A few hours ago my laptop screen turned off and my external monitor got disconnected and also turned black. I have done an antivirus scan and hooked up my monitor to test if it was a back light problem. I have the Lenovo y50.
My laptop screen turns off 15 minutes of use. How do i fix it?

Is a screen saver or power saving setting activating after 15 minutes?

To me sound as if it's over heating somewhere and shutting down as programmed. Have you tried event viewer to see if you're getting a warning?

Are the cables still good? Have they been damaged or is your computer shutting off too? There are so many things you're leaving out of the question
