So, I have the Lenovo ThinkPad Twist with Windows 8. All of a sudden, my mouse/touchpad? (the big square part where you use your finger to use the mouse.) started acting up. I can move the cursor, but it keeps highlighting everything and when i hover over an icon it automatically highlights it and when i move the cursor it moves the icon with it.

You probably incidentally hit a key combination the influences the touchpad.
In the windows control panel choose mouse and check the settings. Disable any advanced features you don't want.
Shut down the laptop completely and restart.
Should this not help, have you driver ready and re-install it.
