About a year or so ago I bought a lenovo G780 and it was a pretty good laptop. However, for about a month now its been randomly blacking out, and won't come back on for a random amount of time. If I shine a really bright light on it I can see that everything is working like normal but the backlight isn't coming on. So my question is: Do I need to get a new screen or is there some other way to fix this?

Back up all important files to external media before the laptop stops working, operating system crashes or hard drive fails, you should be backing up on a regular schedule any way.
Try a system recovery putting it back to factory.
Take it ti a computer center and have it checked.
Screen or invert going our, lose cable connection at screen or inverter.
