I have a lenovo y580 laptop and whenever I press the power button nothing will turn on. When plugged into the AC adapter the computer will not show any lights to indicate that it is charging. The laptop also short circuits the Ac adapter because the voltage goes down on the Ac adapter after plugging it in and unplugging it. What could be the problem?

There's a hardware problem either with the motherboard or the charger. Initially take it to a workshop and get them to test it with a new charger. If that doesn't work then you will need to get the laptop checked

Obviously there's a problem with the electronics and the circuits. Stop trying to plug it in, you're burning your laptop. If you have a different plug, try that. Before trying a different plug, read both labels carefully and make sure that they provide the same voltage and wattage, as well as polarity. If you don't have another plug, take it to a repair shop.

Remove the battery and unplug the ac adapter then hold down the power button on your laptop for 10secs to release the static electric
