Looking into a Gaming Laptop?

So with my college days behind me, and my workhorse Lenovo starting to wear down and have issues, I'm looking into getting a new computer. I haven't ruled out a desktop just yet, but I travel frequently so it wouldn't really make much sense right now.

What I'm looking for is a combination of reliability and performance I can get for approximately $1,400-$1,600 excluding mouse and other accessories, and a 15" to 17" screen. Any suggestions, whether they be specific models, list of components, or just a brand would be appreciated.

For a good gaming laptop, stick with Alienware. They are popular and reliable.
When it comes to laptop gaming, you get what you pay for.
Update: Oh, for model, I recommend the Alienware 15.
An ideal pc or laptop needs:
At least 8Gbs ram
Around 4Ghz processor, though 3.1-3.7 is alright most of the time.
The graphics card should be decent. Gtx series over 600 are brilliant. However, I got a cheap Radeon r7 370, which runs new games like the Witcher 3 or assassins creed syndicate at a lovely 38fps on high-ultra settings.

I just thought I'd add, if you are willing to plug in a power cord and hook up a base unit to a monitor each time you travel, you can get a desktop that is just as powerful as a £1,116 laptop for around £600-800.
