Recently, I accidently hit the side of my laptop against a door (it wanst very hard) and it started to vibrate and buzz loudly. I had to shut down my laptop and restart it to get rid of the noise. Then when I closed the laptop lid, the vibrating and noises started again. Does anyone have any answers to why this might be happening? I have a Lenovo Ideapad U430.
My laptop randomly vibrates and makes a buzzing sound?
You can also try re-seating the hard drive… It's possible that when you hit it you just knocked the drive loose a little. Open the hard drive compartment and make sure its connected securely and in position
The only thing that really vibrates is the disk drive or fans. If you have anything really important on it, buy yourself a Flash drive or one of those Western Digital / Seagate USG drives and backup what's important, because it sound like the main drive is going to just stop one day. One or more of the discs is now out of whack, so it's vibrating.
Start looking into a replacement drive before it's too late.
There are mini-fans in some laptops too, but I doubt that's it. I'd bet it's the drive.
Take it of of the microwave
What the other responders said about hard drives and fans.
Another possibility is the DVD drive. Do you have a DVD or CD in there? If so, eject that disc.
Makes my homework unbearable, checked fan and no air was blowing out so I guess I just wait until it blanks out and then I get a better computer
