New laptop not playing steam games?

My new lenovo t410 laptop is playing games with serious lag in slow motion. This is not the case in games like the stanley parable. With simple graphics

A new computer requires at least 2 hours of light use until the system is totally configured.
Have you allowed for the 100+ updates to install?
Likely the computer is in the process. If you click on the CHARMS menu Settings Power you will likely see "Update & Restart" or "Update & Shut Down"
