My track pad is not working on steam games?

I have a lenovo yogo 900 and I have downloaded games like Garry's Mod and Goat simulator to my steam and when I try to play them with my track pad it works for 5 seconds then stops and then starts and this repeats till I decide to quit the game. Is there anyway I can fix this?
