Realtek audio driver 2.75 complications with input mic?

I've currently got a Realtek High Definition sound card and I'm running version 2.75 of the Realtek hd audio driver. My laptop is a Lenovo V570 with Windows 7 Home Premium. Here is my problem:

On the oldest version of the driver I had, 2.61 or so, I've used my Turtle Beach Earforce X12 headset for listening as well as recording things with the mic. The headset is plugged in to my laptop by USB, stereo 3.5 jack (green), and mic 3.5 jack (pink). The mic worked perfectly and picked up sound amazingly. The problem with this version of the driver is that it didn't recognize stereo mix as a recording option. After updating to version 2.75 of the driver, stereo mix is now recognized, but there's a new problem. First, Realtek only displayed the laptop mic and stereo mix as recording devices. After messing with the settings I've configured Realtek to display two different mics (laptop mic and input mic). The problem arises here. When I plug in my headset, I literally have to scream just to barely hear my voice with the mic level maxed out as well as the mic boost.

On the old driver, I had a working mic but no stereo mix. On the newest driver, I get stereo mix, but no working mic. I might have the wrong settings or something, but I'm lost. Any help would be much appreciated.

It sounds like you configured the audio-out as a mic-in port through Audio Manager. Try to look for a software called 'Realtek HD Audio Manager' and then configure those ports as being independent.
