I sent my Lenovo y480 laptop to a maintenance shop so he can blow the dust out of it and put some thermal paste for me. Gpu used to run at 100c and now it runs at 95c. Cpu used to run at about 90c and now it runs at 75 C. Did the guy really put thermal paste or was he lying? He did clean the dust but i'm not really sure if he put thermal paste.
Sent laptop to maintenance shop so he can put thermal paste. Gpu temperature dropped only 5c?

Most if all laptops use thermal pads instead of paste for loose manufacturing and assembling tolerance because for paste to work, the 2 surfaces must mate perfectly. The problem with pads is that they aren't as efficient. For example, on my Acer 7535, I had to replace the pad with a custom piece of copper to bridge the gap between the CPU and the heatsink for the paste to work. But it takes time so nobody is going to do it for you. It's a DIY job really.
