I have a Lenovo L440 With windows 10 Pro 64 bit OS. Last week my trackpad worked as usual, I left my computer and was unable to use it for the rest of the week, in that time period my laptop died and when i restarted it, once i restarted my computer the trackpad and red button that no one uses are both unresponsive. A USB mouse works fine with it but as soon as i unplug the USB mouse, the mouse on screen disappears. There's no option to do anything with my trackpad in the mouse properties, it is only showing the usb mouse i have plugged in. In the system information, "synopsis pointing device" was under device problems saying that it does not have the correct driver. I reinstalled the correct driver (found here http://support.lenovo.com/.../DS103411) however the trackpad is still unresponsive.
Trackpad is no longer responsive?

This is just a driver issue. It happens all the time. Connect an external mouse to your computer. Once connected right click on the windows button. Select an option that says device manager. Once a new windows opens look for a tab that will say Mouse. Extend the tab by clicking on the arrow. Click on a option that says ELAN Driver. Right click and then uninstall the driver. Once done restart the computer. When the computer restarts it will reinstall the ELAN Driver on its own. That will fix your issue 9/10 times.
