I'm trying to install Zoo Tycoon 2 on my laptop (Lenovo). I'm using Windows 8 and the following message pops up: "unable to create graphics renderer".

If you google that message, the first thing that comes up is Zoo Tycoon 2. But being such an old game, windows Vista/7/8 are not supported.

the first thing you should try is updating the game.

download and install the update patch, it might have support for your graphics adapter and/or version of windows.
next thing to try is to update your graphics drivers. Go to the manufacturers website (Intel/Ati/Nvidia) and you will find the latest drivers in the download/support section.
