I'm talking ab actual laptop. Not one of those hybrid ones whee you take of the screen like a surface. Also what is the best one in your opinion. Need this for a gift for Christmas.

My humble opinion is take a normal laptop if it is for general use. It is less expensive and future maintenance costs will be less due to the less complexity of the dismantle. But if you really need the touch screen laptop for specific tasks e.g for touch enabled games, then go for a Lenovo. Very good machines, reliable, great battery life and better priced than some other brands. A good one is Lenovo Z500 Touch Laptop. It comes with 3-4 options, to make it easier choice, the more expensive of those options, the faster the laptop. (techie here)
