Why is my windows 10 laptop lagging?

Your drivers are not working properly with Windows 10, and your hardware is obsolete. If you plan on keeping 10 then you must start finding new drivers comparable with your old hardware and the new OS.
There's Never a good reason to Upgrade to a new OS unless the old one is not functioning. Even then it is a poor deal.
Wait until you need a new machine and one OEM with Windows 10.
