Problems with Lenovo Edge 15?

I picked up my Lenovo Edge 15 for about $1000 the other day. 8gb of memory, i5 processor, 1tb hardrive and right out of the box it can't detect any wireless networks at all. I used the ethernet cable to establish a connection, but soon after I unplug it it won't detect anything. I got it replaced the very next day and the same problem happened. I took it back to Best Buy and it worked fine there. When I got back home I still had the same problem. I know my Wi-Fi is fine, because all of my other devices are ok.

No doubt your running W10, That's where your problem is. If the Wi-Fi worked fine in the store… Then the problem is not with the laptop… It is some where in your home… Are we using the correct login password?( for example?)… Are there any blocks preventing devices from connecting? Have we even just… Re-booted the Wi-Fi router?

A percentage (from my personal experience between 2% and 5%) of devices such as your laptop will not work properly with certain routers. The problem can vary from not detecting the network at all, to running slower than it should or randomly dropping the connection.

First of all, try changing the channel that the router is using for its Wi-Fi. This sometimes solves the problem. If you are not in the US, check that your router is not using channels 12, 13 or 14. Many laptops support only the channels that are legal in the US (channels 1 to 11 only). Also check that your router is on 2.4 GHz. Many devices do not support operation on 5 GHz.

Check whether the laptop will work with other wireless networks. If it will, then either change your router, add a second Wi-Fi network using a wireless access point, or disable the laptops wireless adapter and use a USB adapter with appropriate drivers. Some USB adapters are small enough to be left plugged in to a USB port all the time.

Take it back to the shop and get them to demonstrate that it works on their Wi-Fi. If it won't work there, get your money back and buy a different make of laptop.
