I have a Lenovo Android tablet that will not be receiving the lollipop update and it still works great, and I'm just wondering how much longer until I start get notifications that apps I like, such as those that stream television, or news apps, etc no longer will be supported? Is kitkat near the end or do we still have a few more years?
How much longer do you think app developers will continue to support Android 4.4 kitkat?
Thats part of the problem with android is that its literally all over the place and some apps work and some are bugyy, and its why iOS apps don't have have any of those issues
For quite a while. Many apps still support Ice Cream Sandwich yet. Let alone Jelly Bean and Kitkat. (Both are newer than Ice Cream Sandwich.) KitKat has only been around for about 2 years now. And most app support goes back 4-5 years. Only certain apps that can't literally be made to run on older versions of Android won't be supported. For example screen recording apps. Android prior to Lollipop 5.0 does not support screen recording. So obviously apps can't be made to do this since the OS itself does not allow for such apps.
But rest assured apps will be made for it since so many people are still using it. This is the nice thing about Android. Older versions are almost always fully supported. Most of the time it's the phone/tablet that stops compatibility since the processor or graphics chip becomes out of date to handle the applications first.
Couple of years may be, till some more versions are launched and you must have the most advanced security app that could be very much useful for you, LEO Privacy
