Music Production Desktop: Dell XPS 8700 vs Lenovo IdeaCentre K450?

Currently I use a Mac for Music Production, but I'm now ready to invest in a Windows PC as well to expand my resources. I need a high performance desktop and have been debating on a few specific models for the past week. Any insight from users of these desktops or even if you know anything about them besides general info, it would be much appreciated.

And don't mention HP because I was initially looking at HP, but realized from all the research that HP is a horrible, unreliable brand for performance PCs.

I'm debating between the Dell XPS 8700 and the Lenovo IdeaCentre K450.
Here are some quick specs:

Dell XPS 8700
- Intel® Quad Core i7-4770 3.4GHz, up to 3.9GHz
- 8 GB or 12 GB Dual Channel DDR3 RAM (8 GB close to $750 / 12 GB close to $900)
- 1 TB HDD SATA
- nVidia GeForce GTX 645 1Gb Video Card
- Windows 8.1
- Wi-Fi & Bluetooth Enabled
- 6 USB 3.0 Ports
- 4 USB 2.0 Ports

***Dell 8GB XPS 8700: $750 - $800
***Dell 12GB XPS 8700: $850 - $1000

Lenovo IdeaCentre K450
- Intel® Quad Core i7-4770 3.4GHz
- 12 GB Dual Channel DDR3 RAM (Can be expanded to 32 GB)
- 2 TB HDD SATA
- NVIDIA Geforce GTX 650 2GB Video Card
- Windows 8
- Wi-FI Enabled
- 4 USB 3.0 Ports
- 2 USB 2.0 Ports

*****Lenovo IdeaCentre K450: $829 ( I think this is a steal!) - Original is over $1000

I'm leaning towards the Lenovo as not only is it a more reliable and innovative brand than Dell, but also the desktop has better specs. What do you think?

I'd go with the Lenovo out of the two. It has an extra 4 gb of ram and more storage which is nice for most music production software and for storing samples, tracks etc.

It has also got a tiny bit better graphics card, though, i don't know if you'll be gaming or not.

+1 for the Lenovo IdeaCentre K450.

From my experience, Dell is more reliable than Lenovo, but Lenovo's config is more productive and considering the money is a much better buy.

Another thing is that you can gather these configs up yourself a bit cheaper and put a Win7 on.
