How to restore a system image from Lenovo Z570 Windows 7 to an Asus N56VM Windows 7?

I've just bought a new Asus N56VM and am trying to put on my entire system image from my old Lenovo Z570. Firstly, when booting a system repair disc(I have created several repair discs from several computers to test this) I'm getting the ''Non system disk or disk error''.

What I really need to know is if it's even possible to do this? It's vital that I have the exact programs on my new laptop but I no longer have installations for most of these.

If it's not possible to do so on an Asus, which laptop is it possible to move all your data from a Lenovo to?

Any help would be much appreciated.

NO NO NO.

It is NEVER possible to use a disk image of one machine in another one. The same as even recovery disks can't be used on other machines.
The reason is that ever since WIN XP parts of the hardware ID's are encoded into the OS. It was to stop people from copying Windows.
So Different Hardware ID's no go.

I'm surprised how many people STILL don't know this. XP has been around longer than half of you!

All you can do is migrate your data over but not the programs. You lost out there by not having a backup plan in place. Learn from it!

You should Follow these below Steps

1) Click the Round Windows Button

2) Right Click Computer

3) Click Properties

4) At the Bottom on the Left had side Click Windows Update

5)At the Bottom on the Left had side Click Installed Updates

6)Wait a Few mins for the Updates to Load

7)Look Under the Micorsoft Windows Section you will see Internet Explorer 9

8)Highlight and click Uninstall at the Top it will uninstall and the Machine will restart and Internet Explorer 8 will be installed
