My laptop can't detect any Wi-Fi connections?

I was hoping if anyone can help me with this. I have a laptop Lenovo Y470 and it can't detect any wireless connections (with the red X symbol).

Its weird because all other PCs and laptops in my house can detect the wireless connection just fine.

So far I've tried:

1) Switching on/off the connection button on the laptop

2) Uninstall network adapter and then re-install it again

Both didn't work unfortunately.

Also I was in UK last month- and I brought this laptop with me. It works just fine surprisingly. It can even detect my phone's hotspot. Before I went to UK, I was facing the same problem but I didn't do anything about it because I already own a new PC. Now that I'm back at my country- it can't detect any connections back!

Any idea what's going on with my laptop?

If your laptop has a Wi-Fi switch make sure it is turned on. Make sure you have a Wi-Fi signal from the router.
If not sure unplug the power to the router for 20 to 30 seconds, then plug it back in and wait for it to reset.
If you still can't detect Wi-Fi try
Click Start
Control panel
Network and sharing
Click connect to a network
If your network name is in the list then highlight it,
and click connect.
place a check mark in the box that says Auto connect.

If you're using windows 8.
Change PC settings > Network > Flight Mode > Switch Wi-Fi to on.
