So i play elsword a lot on my lenovo i7 laptop but seem to notice a lot of lag and disconnections when i play. I don't think its my Wi-Fi as i can watch videos and play with other devices (3ds, ps3, phone, etc) on the Wi-Fi with no problems but when i specifically play elsword, its very laggy in both pvp and pve. Is there something i can do, i heard that graphic cards help, do they? If so, which one should i get? I just downloaded windows 10 but that caused more problems (see my last question). Will my game be better with windows 10 or is that irrelevant?
Online gaming performance
Online lag has nothing to do with your graphics card. It's strictly related to your network connection and your internet connection.
If the laptop is having problems staying connected to your local Wi-Fi, then it's probably a problem with the laptop's hardware. Maybe a bad antenna or something. Try moving closer to your router, or, if possible, use an ethernet cable to connect to the router instead of relying on Wi-Fi.
If the Wi-Fi connection is strong then the problem is most likely with the game server itself. Unfortunately you can't do anything about this because you don't control the server, nor the internet between you and it.
A laptop with a better graphics card can help improve overall performance, including performance with games, but again, won't help with your network connection.
As for upgrading to Windows 10, that probably won't help you any either. While Windows 10 does come with a new version of DirectX (which is a library used by games) it most likely won't help you here, and as you found out, can cause more problems. In general, it's best to wait at least a few months before upgrading to a new major operating system. Let the others find the problems instead of you:-)
