I went to restart my laptop to update some things, and once it restarted, the screen was grey with some lines. It has been working perfectly fine, and I'm not sure if I have to replace it or if something is loose. If it helps, I have a Lenovo G580.

Re boot to safe mode and do a system restore to the time before the update.

Well I'll be darned! I had the exact same problem. Ends up the whole gizmo was infested with mites! Mites, by golly! It was infested with mites! Can you imagine? It was infested with mites!
