What's wrong with my laptop? - 3

It is a Lenovo laptop. The screen won't turn on. I can't turn the laptop on and everything works but the screen. Sometimes I will see a green tint or I can barely make it what is on the screen. No light comes from the screen. It has done this before and worked again about a month later, but I can't really wait that long. Any advice?

Hold it up to the computer screen so I can take a look at it.

See if you can connect it to an external display to determine if it's just the laptop display that s not working or something else. Most laptops these days have video output with HDMI or VGA, or newer ones might have USB-C which can be adapted to HDMI.

You can plug it into your monitor or TV with one of those cables and see if the screen comes up normally. If you can get a picture, Go to the lenovo website here: and find the latest video drivers for your laptop just to make sure it's not just a driver problem.

If the issue persists then you should be able to contact Lenovo support from the same website and, if it's still under warranty, see about getting it serviced.

Both spankman and memelord prime are wrong…
its not a driver issue

the back-light or inverter board has burnt out on your laptop. You must replace the screen to fix the issue. I have seen this exact thing dozens of times before.

My Lenovo laptop from 2011 lost its video chip connections after 3 years. New motherboard and forced cooling solved that.
