I'm buying a laptop, and as a student I will only use it for browsing the web and microsoft office and watching films etc. I don't need it for anything too heavy like gaming etc. I have my eyes on the Lenovo G505 4GB RAM but I can either buy it with an AMD E1-2100 dual core processor or an AMD A4-5000M Quad Core Processor? There's a difference of £80 in price, I can afford it but would it be a waste? I mean would I use it that much? I just need to know please! And btw the Dual Core comes with 4GB DDR3 RAM whereas the Quad Core comes with 4GB RAM only if that makes a difference? And if you could find any other laptops that you think would suit me? My max price is like £250.
Which Laptop to buy? AMD dual or AMD quad?

Quad is usually faster then dual

Get the Quad one. It performs faster as compare to Dual core while you are doing multitasking or running heavy programs.

The AMD E1-2100 processor is a very weak CPU designed for use in sub-notebooks (tablets, netbooks, etc… ). The AMD A4-5000M is a CPU designed to run "everyday" workloads like web browsing, word processing and watching videos. It sounds like the A4 would be much better for you.
