Why is my new computer running so slow?

I recently purchased a Lenovo all-in-one computer from best buy for right around $1,000. It has the i7 7500u processor (2.7-2.9Ghz), 8GB RAM, running windows 10. Here is the description from the best buy website: Lenovo - 520S-23IKU 23" Touch-Screen All-In-One - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Black/silver

I have had the computer for 2 weeks, and I'm very close to taking it back if i don't throw it out the window first. Loading webpages is sometimes fast, and sometimes it'll take close to a minute to pull up amazon or other webpages. Tying to download an antivirus program (AVG) seems like it took twice as long on this new computer than on my 8 year old computer from walmart--which has an i3 processor and much worse specs. I bought this computer for something fast and reliable, but it seems no different than my outdated laptop I was trying to replace.

I pay for 75Mbps through comcast. ALL of my devices get 80-90Mbps when i run multiple speed test programs on them (tablet, laptop, iphone). However, this computer keeps showing internet speeds of 10Mbps or less. I don't do any gaming. Mostly just light web browsing and occasional video streaming.

I'm not a computer whiz and have tried looking online, but i can't find anything to help trouble shoot this computer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on whether or not i should take this thing back.

The problems mentioned are all related to the internet.
Try a different browser to isolate the problem. Also, turn off all automatic updates as another way to isolate the problem.
If all off line computing tasks run very fast as they should then it is a connection/configuration problem with your router/adapter/cabling. Replace the Ethernet cable and use a different port if available on the router. You are using a wireless connection on the devices that run fast so the problem could easily be Ethernet related. If you are using a separate router connected to your ISP box to provide wireless, bypass it and connect straight to the ISP with a known good Ethernet cable. All of the above methods are intended to isolate the problem. There's very little chance it is a internal computer hardware problem. It could also be a router configuration problem.
If you re-connect your old rig and test you may find that it is also now slow. Keep an open mind and systematically eliminate/isolate the problem.

Did it come with a pre-installed anti-virus program (Mcafee, etc.)? It could be the onboard program is hogging resources and now competing with the one you downloaded. You may have to uninstall the pre-installed software. Lots of Windows 10 apps and programs - including automatic updating - can make a system lag like crazy. Disable all apps you don't use and change the settings on the updates (Administrative tools > Services > Windows Updates). I recently bought a Lenovo that was slow as molasses until I dumped apps and tweaked the settings. It's very fast now and (so far) problem free.

You should have took it back day one if the internet cards defective do it now if they will still take it back

That's your internet that's being slow, not your computer.

Do some speed tests, if it doesn't run as fast as it's supposed to, contact your ISP, if it does run as fast as it's supposed to then it's probably either your router or your network adapter.

Your Internet connection could be the reason, or you have too many startup programs.

Define Slow please
