Lenovo Thinkpad vs Dell Inspiron?

I'm having to buy a new laptop, and I've narrowed it between Lenovo Thinkpad X140e and Dell Inspiron i3147-3750sLV. Which is better?

Weird popup, computer running slowly?

My computer is a lenovo yoga ideapad. It's on windows 8. Lately, I've been getting this weird popup that disappears before i can even read it. All I've ever made out is "sandbox" something. Ever since that started happening, my computer runs slow and gets hot really quickly. My antivirus isn't installing, so I've tried using windows defender and running a scan to find any malicious viruses or anything, but every time I do, it stops halfway through and says that windows defender has been turned off? Please help! I don't have the money to go get it fixed, I'm only 15. Any suggestions help-I'm also not very good with technical aspects so simplest way you could put it would be nice.

Windows 8.1 controller compatibility

I recently purchased a Lenovo Y510p, it's running on Windows 8.1, and I want to game, but I hate using mouse and keyboard. What controller would be directly compatible without having to download several separate programs. I've done alot of research, but I can't find any solid advice. A link to a controller model would be nice. And I MUCH prefer the PlayStation controller layout, but it's not a deal breaker. And I plan on playing Skyrim if it matters

Why does my laptop became so laggy?

So I bought my laptop a year ago and it works fine on some games with the highest settings smoothly running like Batman Arkham City, Crysis 3, Blur, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, etc.

Then suddenly one day it slowed down and became laggy. I managed to uninstall the games and applications that I do not use anymore but it's still so slow… I also tried the recovery mode and a few weeks ago, I sent my laptop to a technician to reformat it… I got the laptop now but it still sucks and it can't even play GTA Vice City smoothly even on the lowest settings…

By the way my laptop is:

Lenovo Z470 Ideapad with dedicated video card on/off switch,
8GB RAM, Intel Core I3 - 2330M CPU @ 2.20 Ghz,
64 Bit, NVIDIA Geforce GT 540M

Do laptops have limits to compatibility with hardware upgrades, specifically hard drives?

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Z710 and the hard drive has died just outside the warranty. I had to replace the motherboard when it was 6 months old and the price was "not covered by the warranty" so I don't want to give Lenovo another penny. I apologize if this seems a stupid question, but talking to India always makes me lose my sense.

If I buy a hard drive with better specs than my dead one, will it be compatible with the mobo and all other hardware?

1Tb is large enough for me, but I want to upgrade from 5400rpm to 7200, and maybe even upgrade my cache from 8Gb to 16, if the price is right. I really, really want to change from Samsung to Western Digital… The physical size of the drive and SATA3 will of course stay the same. I appreciate any help with this, I just need to be sure since India has thrown me for a loop.

Lenovo Laptop Windows 8.1 failure to boot up after failed system restore?

I recently began a system restore on my computer to fix boot up problems, when my laptop died at 13% restore because I forgot to plug in the power cable. After I plugged the cable in, the computer has consistently failed to load. When I turn it on, the blue screen comes on that asks to press enter, F8 for startup settings, and esc for uefi firmare settings blinks and stays the same when I press any of the options, except for the esc button. What can I do to get the computer to boot, or to simply restore everything (my laptop doesn't have a disc slot)
