Would a mini display port to hdmi cable transmit sound to my monitor?

My Lenovo Thinkpad (school laptop) has the worst screen I've ever seen and I need it plugged into an external monitor. It doesn't have an HDMI port and I've been using VGA. It has a mini display port. Would a mini display port to hdmi cable be able to transmit sound to my PC speakers?

My lenovo laptop screen is stretched and i don't know how i did it and how to fix it

Ok so i was playing the sims 3 and my game crashed, then my screen went upside down and i thought what everyone would think. Just restart it. So that is what i do, i load it up again, but this time its stretched, the max resolution is 1024 x 768 and that is what i'm on, there's no option to make it any bigger. Any help?

Ghost touching on Lenovo Flex 4?

So while I'm on my computer, the computer thinks hat I'm pressing multiple spots and will often "ghost touch" them. For those who aren't aware, ghost touching is when the machine recognizes that someone touched something, but that person actually didn't. This is the first day that it's been doing this and I find this Really weird. I tried restarting and shutting down my laptop and it still does this. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I need help finding a laptop?

I'm kinda stupid but I really need a new laptop for school and gaming.

The laptop I currently have is a Lenovo with an i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a GeForce 840M. I don't know what any of this actually means.

I need a machine that can run all Adobe programs (Photoshop, Premiere, etc.) as well as Zbrush and Maya. I also play Overwatch on PC as well as other games and I would like to be able to have a high graphics setting.

I understand that price really does dictate the quality of the computer you purchase, but as a student I'm trying to save as much money as possible. My friend has an HP Omen and it works great for gaming but she doesn't run Adobe programs or things like Maya. I don't know squat diddly about computer specs so I have no idea what aspects of the machine affect these programs.

I need advice on a laptop?

I found a lenovo laptop and an hp laptop with the same exact specs with the same exact price, but the Lenovo laptop has a bigger screen, the hp laptop has touchscreen but a smaller screen.

Which one should I go for? They both have 8gb ram and I plan to use it for gamInf

Build my own pc or get a high end laptop?

I don't really care much for games but I'm a youtuber as a hobby and need to edit videos and sound effects, I also use Adobe photoshop, illustrator and a screen recording app to video what I'm doing on screen. I study computer science in college also so I need portability, I program c, Java and python and make websites with html css and JavaScript, of course there's more applications but that's what I do now.
I currently have a hp pavilion and I hook that up to an ultra wide monitor via HDMI and use a keyboard and wireless mouse, I use my laptop as a pc when editing videos or using my Adobe suite most of the time.
My laptop is goosed so I was going to buy a new one, I could stretch my budget to and it just dawned on me, maybe I should just make a pc for home and then buy a cheaper laptop just for watching movies and doing presentations in college and lite programming.
What do you suggest go all out and spend 1300 on an xps13 or a hp spectre or a lenovo thinkpad and use that as a pc and laptop or make my own powerful pc and get a lot laptop for college and streaming?
