Is it a good idea to give your wife to be one of your old laptops?

I have a windows 7 lenovo laptop that I don't use anymore and it is in good condition. It has an i7 processor and 750gb hard drive. I'm engaged to a vietnamese girl in vietnam who I'm going to be marrying soon. I want to bring her this laptop so that she and I can keep in touch after we got married. I haven't met her yet since this is an arranged marriage and I'm meeting her for the first time at our wedding. Is it a good idea or a bad idea to give her my old laptop?

Will downloading games slow down my laptop's internet?

I have a lenovo G510 laptop, 8GB DDR3 Ram, i5 4200m cpu 2.5ghz 3.1ghz in turbo mode, and an intel hd graphics 4600. I currently have Skyrim, Assassin's Creed 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and Assassins Creed Revelations installed. I'm afraid that having all these games installed will slow down my internet. Once I finish playing them I will close them and steam down. I currently have 850mb of 1tb remaining in my hard drive. Will having all of these games installed slow down my laptop? I don't think it should since they won't be taking up internet when they aren't running and there's plenty of hard drive space, but I'm just a little paranoid.

Will Lenovo Replace my IdeaPad N580. No Warranty?

My laptop have a major hardware issue. I no longer have the warranty, BUT, I'm willing to pay for a replacement… I'm a college student who don't have time to get it repaired…

So if I ask for a replacement and give them my card information, Wii they send a replacement?

Which is faster between a 4gb PC3-10600 and a 2gb PC3-12800?

So I have Lenovo G40-30 and it has an Intel Celeron N2830 @ 2.16GHz 2.16GHz processor and 2gb DDR3 PC3-12800 x1 of RAM. I know right off the bat it's kinda low-end. So I'm planning to add more ram.
Sorry for the quite noob questions, seeing that I've only recently learned about the differences between RAM frequencies:

Is a 4gb PC3-10600 better than a 2gb PC3-12800? I've noticed that there's quite a price difference between a PC3-12800 and PC3-10600.

Also, my laptop has two memory module slots, can I install two memory modules with mismatched frequencies? Like a 2gb PC3-12800 with a 4gb PC3-10600 for a total of 6gb of RAM?

New laptop with Smart Card reader? What is that?

Just got my new laptop (yay) and am finally moving on from windows XP; I have bought a Lenovo L430. I'm 19 and will be using the laptop for university next year mainly writing, reading, editing my photos and using the internet a bit.

So I have put said laptop on to charge and, while sorting out the giant cardboard box, I found a smaller box which contains a Smart Card reader. (Specifically the Gemplus ExpressCard Smart Card Reader from Lenovo)
Now from a little research I understand it is for security purposes. But can someone please explain:
What it means and do I need it? Do I have to buy a card to go in the card reader? Is it like an antivirus thing like Norton or something or what?

Aargh, need help.

Why is my graphics card so slow?

I recently purchased the Lenovo Y510P. This laptop includes 8gb memory, intel core i7 processor, and a nvidia 755m graphics card (no sli). When I play NBA 2K14 I only get 10 FPS! Online it says I should be getting over 50. What's wrong with the graphics card?

Warranty Void if format windows 8.1?

I just bought Lenovo z510 that came with windows 8.1. I faced a lot of problems and thinking to change the version of the windows 8.1 to 7. If I format my laptop does my warranty void?

If I backup my windows or C: drive. Can I just restore it back so that it doesn't effect my warranty? Any answer will be highly appreciated and sorry for my bad English because it's not my main language.

Best gaming (performance) laptop under 1500$ CAD?

So I live in Canada and I'm looking for a laptop that's under my budget. A little over might not be bad, but it definitely needs to stay in my range. I'll be using it for Photoshop, Inventor, Revit, and some other programs as well as gaming. I was looking at the Lenovo Ideapad y510p which didn't look so bad. If anyone has other suggestions please let me know. Oh and some info that might be useful for you: I'll almost always be plugged in, but I still need to be a bit portable so battery isn't an issue. I'd prefer if it was a 17" laptop.
Cheers!
