Is a Lenovo Ideapad s410p good for college?

Hi! I just came across that laptop I would consider decent for college. I would mainly be using this for paperwork i.e. Ms word, adobe reader, a little bit of editing i.e. Photoshop, sony vegas, and casual gaming i.e. Sims. Can this laptop run all these? Not necessarily at the same time. If not, can you recommend a better Lenovo laptop? I have a budget of not more than 900USD.

note: I'm not thinking of buying a Macbook(too expensive) or other brands i.e. Dell, Asus (skeptical)

here are the specs

Is a MacBook Air worth it? - 1

I'm heading into college and ma in need of my first laptop. I want either a MacBook Air 11' or 13', or an an HP, Asus or Lenovo laptop.(preferably not made by the Chinese, so maybe not Lenovo). I want a MacBook Air because of it's long lasting battery, and also because it's light and it's longevity. I just got $520 in graduation money, and my parents said they will pay for half of a laptop. So this may be my only chance to get a Mac before I go broke in college haha. A Mac Air 11' is now $850. Also I want to try out a new OS, because Windows 8 doesn't look like it's for me. Another reason I want one is so it will last, and I won't have to buy a new laptop every 3 years. What do you think? Should I get a MacBook Air? Or save my money by getting another brand?

Lenovo G500s battery reduces to 58% in less than an hour?

I purchased Lenovo G500s laptop 2 months back and I use Windows 8.
Today my laptop was charged to 99% and then I ran it on battery, brightness around half the bar that we see when we change the setting.

Battery setting I'm using is:
Power Plan - Balanced
Battery - Max Battery Life
Hard Disk Power Saver - On

I removed the laptop from charging at 3:24pm and at 4:10pm it shows 1hr 13 min, 55% remaining.

I was using Firefox to check my mails and anti-virus software doing system scan.

I've not worked much on any laptop so have no idea if the battery going down so soon is normal or not.

Suggest a good 14/15 laptop for med school?

I'm sorry if this topic has been regurgitated a ton of times but I need some suggestions. I'm looking to purchase a 14/15" laptop for med school. I don't need to write on the screen or for it to be a convertible. I find it easier typing as I go and will most likely use OneNote to annotate my notes. I have tried EverNote and was not too happy by its limitations, specifically lack of formatting that exits in the MS Suite and inability to import slides for annotating.

I was considering a Mac Pro but the new free version of OneNote has several limitations-- one in particular being lack of printing. There may be more. I was considering if one where to annotate notes/create notes in OneNote for Mac, to upload them to Skydrive and then use a Windows PC with OneNote to download them and print them. Not sure if such can be done to bypass this issue.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Windows 8's Metro UI. I would much prefer to use Windows 7. I do have a Windows 7 installation CD but the issue is that all of the laptops right now on the market lack Windows 7 drivers if they come with Windows 8. The lack of a start menu is daunting but there are 3rd party programs (like Start8) that cam possibly remedy this issue. Also, the key appeal of Windows is the fact that Office works well.

I'm considering buying a Lenovo Flex 2 (http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/flex-series/flex-2-15/?sb=:000001C9:000120A7:), but wanted some opinions.

My laptop is stuck at lowest brightness?

My cat walked over my laptop's keyboard and now the screen will not go above lowest brightness even though the brightness is at max. Is there a key combo that fixes this. My laptop is a windows 8.1 lenovo touchscreen.

What types of good laptops are good for this description?

I really want a good laptop with these features, thin, light weight, touch screen, 1080p hd led display, very good graphics card, i7 quad-core processor, 16" display, 1080p webcam, built in microphone and I also want a good keyboard which doesn't have spaces in between kind of like the MacBooks keyboard where the gaps are covered. The price limit should be up to £1500.

What's better: Macbook Pro or Macbook Air?

And, if I can't get a mac. What are the other options? Is it Toshiba? ASUS? Lenovo? VAIO?
