SSD upgrade fresh install

I bought an SSD and since my computer is very bloated with stuff and with the misalignment issues I've heard about in SSD's, I would like to just install my ssd into my computer and do a fresh install of windows 8.1, which is what the manufacturer shipped with (lenovo g780).

HOWEVER
My question is, since the laptop came with Windows 8.1, is there a way to get a copy of windows 8.1, or would I have to buy a copy? Is there any way to (legally) obtain a copy… Perhaps by making a copy of windows 8.1 onto a bootable flash drive. Or can I download a copy of windows 8.1 online and then re-register my activation code/serial number that came with this computer?

I do not know how these things work. Much help would be appreciated.

Can I change the backlight color on a lenovo y510p?

I'm looking for a gaming laptop and a lenovo y510p seems decently priced. But I'm not a big fan of red, so I was wondering if I could change it without going into the laptop and changing the LEDs.

Which of these three laptops are the best?

Lenovo Ideapad Y410P Price: $790 (New)
- Intel i7 2.4 GHz
- 8 GB RAM
- 1 TB HDD
- Nvidia GT750M (2GB Dedicated)
- Windows 8.1
- Backlit Keyboard (Red)

ASUS Vivobook Price: $730 (New)
- Intel i7 1.8 GHz
- 8 GB RAM
- 1 TB HDD
- Touchscreen
- Nvidia GT740M (2 GB Dedicated)
- Windows 8
- No Backlit keyboard

MSI GE60 Price: $750 (Refurbished)
- Intel i7 3.4 GHz
- 8 GB RAM
- 1 TB (7200 RPM) HDD
- Windows 8.1
- Rainbow steelseries backlit keyboard
- Nvidia GTX860M (2GB GDDR5 Dedicated)

My budget is $800, obviously the MSI wins first, but keep in mind playing the refurbished game is like gambling, you could get something great or you could get a beat up destroyed computer. I'm looking for something I can play games like Goat SImulator, Skyrim, Wolfenstein, and Counter Strike: Global Offensive. I believe that the Lenovo is the middle in terms of specs, but I only included the ASUS because of the touchscreen which is imperative to a windows 8 PC. So what are your ideas? Please include a good reason why and I will give you 5 stars!

How to enable my Intel Virtualization in my BIOS setup?

Okay so, I see videos on youtube with people who have the same laptop as me, and in their BIOS setup they have the option to enable intel virtualization, but for me when I go into my Bios setup I can't even find it! I used speccy to see if virtualization is supported on my CPU and it is but hyperthreading isn't… This is what it says…
VirtualizationSupported, Enabled
HyperthreadingNot supported

But I still get error messages from my virtual machine saying: "VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Certain guests (e.g. OS/2 and QNX) require this feature and will fail to boot without it."

Can Someone please help me get my virtual machine working!

Which one of these laptops is the best bang for the buck when it comes to gaming?

The Lenovo y510p
http://www.amazon.com/...00HIY96WO/

or the ASUS ROG G750JS
http://www.amazon.com/...00IEV85OU/

i watched some youtube videos on both laptops and the y510p plays BF4 on ultra at an average of 40fps (i think) and the asus g750 js plays BF4 on ultra at 60++ fps but is $700's more, worth the performance?
don't tell me to build a pc for a better deal, becasue i know, and in the future i'm going to build one, but for now i want something portable.
thanks!

Added (1). also how do you think they will perform with programs such as cinema 4d or and other stuff like photoshop?

Can I put a Sandisk U100 ATA SSD (128gb) in an old Lenovo Thinkpad X61s?

Recently I was DJing in a bar and a huge speaker fell on my beloved ASUS UX31E, crushing part of it. The damage isn't anywhere near where the SSD drive is so I'm fairly sure it is unharmed.

Anyway I need to replace the whole laptop as there's no chance of repair. What I'm considering doing is buying an old Lenovo Thinkpad ('cos I love thinkpads to death), ripping the old 128GB Sandisk U100 ATA SSD out of the ASUS and putting it into the Lenovo.

What I'm not sure about is if the ATA connectors in the Lenovo will accept the new drive or if I'll have to buy some kind of adapter?

any ideas?

New laptop for University?

I've had this ASUS laptop for awhile now, and I feel like I need an upgrade as I approach my first year of university. I've really been doing some research on ultrabooks and laptops, and can't seem to find a better deal than macbooks.

Let me give some background information about myself:
-I'm a casual gamer, I play minecraft, league of legends, and on rare occasions some blizzard games (wow, diablo, hearthstone)
-I'm going into engineering, so I may require to run some simulation programs, etc.
-I'm going to require a laptop that is around under 5 pounds as I'll be moving around
-Battery life is important as some days I will have classes at 8:30 am and classes ending at 5:30pm, second semester I have classes ending at 9pm, but of course there are breaks between classes

Knowing this, I've looked into lenovo, ASUS, apple and also pondered if the programs I use are windows exclusive. Putting that into mind, apple does have bootcamp, which can run windows, and I do have a copy of windows 7. Nonetheless, I'm eager on hearing your opinions, advice, and suggestions.

Added (1). Budget would be under $2000, the cheaper the better I would assume, due to the crippling student debts that is to come.
