My computer has no sound?

My computer has no sound at all! Windows media player, youtube, there just doesn't seem to be any sound. The volume adjustment symbol on that little bar at the bottom right of my screen isn't there. When I go to the audio section of the control panel, it says there isn't an audio device, even though my speakers are plugged in, I have used troubleshooters and i have downloaded many "quick repairs" i do not know what to do. Would getting my computer cleaned help anything if not what do i do!
My computer is an IBM ThinkVision and the box next to the computer has so stickers saying Microsoft windows xp

Is this a good computer to play games with (specs)?

I'm thinking of buying a PC that has roughly these specs:
Windows 7
3GB RAM
320GB HDD
Video card: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT or ATI Radeon 4600 HD
Processor: Intel Core i3/i5/i7 or AMD Phenom X2/X3/X4

How good is this PC for gaming? Will it be able to play games like Skyrim and Battlefield without lag? Can you tell me a better configuration?

Added (1). Ok so I found something a bit more specific and I'm asking the same thing: Will it be able to play next-gen games like The Elder Scrolls and Battlefield without any problems on at least medium settings?

AMD Phenom X4 955 3.2GHz
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
500GB DDR3 HDD
ATI Radeon 68500 1gb PCI-E Graphics Card With HDMI
4GB DDR3 RAM

Why is my flat screen monitor yellow?

I was given a 20" ThinkVision flatscreen monitor but when I connected it to my computer the screen seems to have no blue color even though the CRT, previously used, DID. Why and how to I fix this?

What computer is better Gateway or Lenovo?

The salesguy at Frys told me IBM makes the Lenovo and I told him it was a brand I never heard of. Both had same memory and speed, nearly identical in what's in the cube box computer tower. Just a price difference. One on sale Gateway savings $100 the other is not. Lenovo owned by IBM?

Active displayport for eyefinity.does anyone know where to buy one in the UK?

I've seen that Accell and Sapphire both make one. But it seems that stocks are only available in America for some reason?
I know there's a vga workaround or to buy a displayport monitor
[like the 'Lenovo ThinkVision L2251P 56 cm (22") LCD Monitor T72HNUK]
but i thought asking here would be good. As its a great place for knowledges shared!

Fliped a Lenovo ThinkVision screen 90 degrees?

Fliped a Lenovo ThinkVision screen 90 degrees and I can't work out how to flip it back? Anyone know how to flip it back?

Thanks

Added (1). ALT + CTRL and the arrow keys don't work.

What are your experiences with lenovo?

The techs at lenovo and my computer are giving me problems, just wondering what are your experiences with lenovo?

I bought the Lenovo T61 and I've regretted it ever since. One day it wouldn't start up so I sent it to Lenovo for repairs. They said they replaced the motherboard and hard drive, it was still under warranty so it was covered. Great right? But now it crashes like 6 times a day with blue screens like "KERNEL INPAGE ERROR and IRQL LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO" or sometimes it just says a critical process had to be terminated. It has been formated twice, with no effect, but Lenovo maintains that it is a software problem and not their problem. The computer never had the blue screen of death before the repair and I had it for two years. So they refuse to do anything about the problem. Needless to say I was royally P'offed.

Best way to start fresh with my PC?

I'm called Owen and I'm glad you're looking at this right now. Ahah.

Let's start at the basics. My computer is slow. Real slow. And it's at the point where I want to just.ha, I just want to break it. But no! I will continue - it has been my partner in crime for several years now.

It is not just slow. Nothing seems to work. MSN, "service unavailable" - the pesky thing has been unavailable for the past five months! Every. Single. Internet. Page. "This web page's security certificate is invalid or does not comply." etc.

I'm fed up!

And I want to start again.

However, with limited PC "techie" information, I don't know what to do. I've heard of formatting the PC… However, I'm very, heh, let's say… Protective. I do not want to blow up my PC and whatnot. I need a way to get everything deleted and things to go back to whenever I got the PC. I think you call it "factory" settings.

I have no reboot CD and the model is an IBM ThinkVision. Not sure on the exact model - let's just say it's old. But it needs saving and it needs to be faster. I created a LOT of things on there and now it's wrecked. My creation.spoilt. Anyways, back to reality. I really need basic, n00b-friendly advice.

I appreciate I have basically led my computer into becoming a wreck that it stands like today (Lol) but you can't blame me for asking - it's what this useful site is for.

Hope I've supplied you enough information.

Please no trashy answers saying "reboot it" or whatever. I need clear and useful answers - at least they'll get the best answer honour.
