Added (2). All these laptop/notebooks are around the $600AU mark (sale prices as end of tax year sales here). The laptop in use at present is HP, 8-9 years old, has had some minor repairs.

For my son; daily usage. He has quite a few software programs running which he uses a lot (backs up sufficiently on a WD My Passport 1GB). These are, to name a few, Movie Studio Platinum and latest Adobe Photoshop programs. Not into gaming as such, but he uses YouTube frequently too. We also run MS Office 10.

Every time my Lenovo laptop has an update, it messes everything up?

It is Windows 8 and when it updates, I try playing League of Legends after and it always boots me out and says Direct X SDK error. When this happens I have to fully restore my laptop, and I don't want to anymore. I've did it like 5 times in the past two months. If anybody can please help me with this it would be greatly appreciated!

MacBook pro 2015 vs Lenovo yoga pro 3 for video editing and music production?

My Samsung laptop recently broke (motherboard got cooked) and I need a new one desperately for school. I have been researching a lot and I'm torn between the macbook pro 13.3 inch with retina display or the Lenovo yoga pro 3. I have always been on windows computers and know them inside out and I also use Sony Vegas to edit gaming videos and vlogs/action videos/music videos. I know that Sony Vegas isn't on macs or has to be run through a boot camp software. Having said this I wouldnt mind learning how to use macs and my media teacher at school recommends the mac. I would have to learn how to use iMovie or final cut pro x though. The MacBook pro I have been looking at has 8gb of ram, a 256gb ssd and a 2.7ghz i5 I think. The Lenovo is the same except an Intel m processor And they are both priced around the 2000AUD mark. I will be needing a long battery lasting the whole school day with the ability to edit photos and videos and also I'm looking to do some music production for my rock band later. So which one should I get keeping in mind it would be my first ever mac and the things I need to do. How fast would Sony Vegas run on either?

Upgrade Graphics Hardware?

So I tried to turn on my old laptop and it's still working. It's a very good laptop ( Sony Vaio) so Graphics wondered if you can update your graphics. ( I know it's possible ) but can you please give me a link. All the other websites say you can't update it.

Operating System: Windows 7-32 bit( I updated it from XP to 7)

I think if you can update your operating system you can update your graphics hardware.

If you can give me a link for the newest one. Or the latest one that is compatible with my laptop, I will choose you as best answer.

Should I buy a smart tv or a camera or save up for a laptop?

I still have those tube tv's lol and mine is starting to turn off on it's own so it's time for a new tv. I recently sold my t2i canon camera because i never used it and I wished i had bought a smaller one. Now this summer i'm going to "try" to do a lot of stuff and now i need a camera but a smaller one (so i don't really regret selling the other one, but now i'm cameraless and my phone sucks. I did my research and the camera i want costs $350 and the smart tv costs $200-300. I don't really watch tv, only at night but i would like to use it to sometimes watch netflix and crank up some music since it'll have internet (i don't really want a webcam on it). I withdrawled all of my money from the bank (only $400 lol). I also really want to buy this laptop (a lenovo think pad) for when i transfer out of my community college and go to a 4-year but i still have 1 more year left before i transfer so i have a 1 year to save up money, so the laptop can wait (it will cost around $1500 if i buy the microsoft office stuff and all the other accessories).

What bloatware can I remove from my new Lenovo y50?

I just received in the mail my new Lenovo y50, but it is LOADED with bloatware. I've been removing bloatware for a little bit, and I'm wondering - is it safe to remove anything with "Lenovo" as the publisher (in the Programs and Features menu)?

Another option for me is to completely reinstall a fresh version of Windows on my laptop without all of the bloatware by downloading the ISO from their website onto a USB to install it with. How would I go about doing THIS method?
