My Lenovo g500s laptop is having DVD driver issues. It worked fine for a while until I updated to Microsoft 8.1. Now all of the sudden my computer says that there's no cd/dvd driver detected and when I put in a DVD, it says that there's no disk in the drive to be read. I think I need to download the DVD driver, but I can't find which one it is even on the Lenovo site.
Hey guys I have a problem so I was trying to make a recovery media on my USB for my laptop (win 8.1 pro Lenovo yoga 3 pro) using acronis bootable media and it worked. I tried to see if it worked. It said 'media failed' then the laptop turned off. I turned it back on then it said staring acronis uefi loader. I left it for 20 mins and it hangs on that page. I was thinking of leaving it there and draining the battery to zero and see what would happen after that but the startup screen doesn't use much battery and I just fully charged it? Any ideas? 20 points for best answer
I'm graduating from high school soon and I'm looking for a laptop that can both be helpful for school as well as gaming. My 3 best options right now (keeping price in mind as well as functionality) are the ASUS Taichi 31, the ASUS UX303LA, and the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro (they are in order in terms of preference at this moment). All of them are perfect in terms of work, but for gaming, i'm not as sure. Right now I have the ASUS T100 which is surprisingly good for running games in low def (Sleeping Dogs, Mafia 2, Chivalry, etc) without throttling from heat. Please help me by giving me a brief run down of performance in terms of my current computer and if any of these laptops have problems with heat throttling/bottle-necking.
Alright first the freezing part randomly out of the blue my computer will freeze i won't be able to move my mouse the time won't continue and I can't ctrl alt delete. My computer also will randomly shut down as in I'll be doing something and it will just turn off and I'll have to turn it back on no blue screen or anything. I have already did a full av scan and I have cleaned my registry with ccleaner I have tried countless things but none have worked I have windows 7 professional my computer is a lenovo thinkpad edge (laptop) 8g of ram and yeah what could be wrong? Note shutting down normally happens when doing something pc intensive and freezing will occur randomly

My mac book crashed so I transferred all my data onto an external drive (computer repairer took out the hard drive in the computer) but then one day it started working again, but only if the external drive was connected. I bought a new windows laptop (lenovo G50-30) and I can't see the external drive anywhere when plugged in - not even in disk management. I can't see it on my mac either so I can't reformat it to use on my new laptop. Someone help me please! Basic instructions appreciated!

My l55t-a5290 toshiba laptop (less than 2 years old) won't start past the first screen. It just replays over again. And no command buttons will work. I was editing a video in Adobe premier when it shut off suddenly and started doing this. My friend thinks it is from overheating. What can I do?

I'm looking for a nice gaming laptop to bring with me to college. I know that a desktop PC is the way to go for gaming. But I need to bring it from class to class to type out notes, PowerPoint, spreadsheets, and etc. Obviously any laptop will do that but now that I'm in the budget for something nicer I would like a decently powerful machine. I'm not well educated in Computer technology being that I've been a console gamer all of my life. So I guess my best benchmark that I can give is that I would want it to run games better than its ps4 counterpart. Because if it doesn't look better than the ps4 then I might as well just get a laptop with just the necessities for school work and stick to console gaming for the next four years.
I realize this might be unrealistic for a laptop on my budget, but I really have no clue. If it could run games like the witcher 3 which seems to be the most demanding game right now, that would be great. So yeah, most powerful laptop that I can get for 1500$ or less, and want it to look better than that of my ps4. Thanks!

I know its about the spec and what the computer has but each brand has a reputation (ex. One might be know to be a cheaper brand etc.) but which of the two has the best reputation.
