enough for me but amd heat like hell and some time it can't boot linux (lenovo production) :P please suggest me some good and tough cheap* laptop

I just Got Skyrim on my PC and it is super laggy, I have a Lenovo thinkpad t400 and yes i know it isn't the best laptop for running skyrim but i heard so many people who ran games like gta on crappier laptops so i thought i could run skyrim on mine. It works but its super laggy. I tried everything but i couldnt fix it. I tried pretty much tried everything on the skyrim.pref thingy. Any suggestions on how to fix it.

From time to time, the sound comes up and then disappears some time after, and all of my speakers and sound buttons are ON. How can I fix this?
Okay so I'm not really a laptop guy. I normally use a desktop. But recently I got this Lenovo laptop which a lot of people says it's "pretty decent" for gaming. Therefore I tried running games like GTA 5. I set the graphics to mid-range and it will stutter. So I tried low setting. It also stutter… I even tried playing games that my geforce gt 630 can handle at max graphics, it also stutter. It's like the whole screen will freeze for a second or two. Is there something wrong with my laptop?!
