How to fix display problem in windows 8?

I got a Lenovo laptop (Y510) recently and installed windows 8 pro on it. I have a problem in display in most of programs. In Microsoft Office programs ribbon icons are big and are not transparent. In Abaqus the bottom part of some command windows are out of screen (They exist there, like OK and Cancel buttons, but they can't be seen in screen) and ribbon icons are bigger than usual (I have another laptop with windows 7 and can see this ions properly there). I spent the last days searching to fix this problem but it still did not solved. The recommended resolution is 1366x768 and the laptop screen is HD.

Which Laptop Is Good For Gaming?

I'm thinking of buying a laptop that is powerful and fast. Also one that can handle games on high settings. Should I buy Lenovo G510 or Z510.
If you think these two are not good for gaming, then please recommend a good one you know!

Gaming Laptop around $1000 with Windows 7?

I really want a better computer and I need a laptop. I love to play Minecraft so I want a laptop that will run Minecraft very fast, probably overkill. I would like at least 8GB ram and a dedicated graphics card of course. The Lenovo Y50 is what I want, except I really want it to be Windows 7. The Lenovo Y50 has:
4th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor
Windows 8.1
15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) display
NVIDIA GTX 860M graphics
Up to 16GB DDR3L memory
Up to 512GB SSD
Up to 5 hours' battery life
Starting at 5.3 lbs

Duplicate screen issues/?

I'm running a Lenovo IdeaPad Y510P and ever since yesterday I have had issues with it showing duplicate screens. I use an LED TV as a monitor, and use and HDMI cable to connect it to my laptop. But yesterday there was a thunderstorm and after one of the lightning shots, the TV or the laptop just don't work together. I checked if it's the wire, i checked if it's the TV, i made sure the duplicate screens option is on, I restarte my laptop, took out the battery at times. I updated my system, and I even used system recovery for earlier that day when it was working. But right now it's just a black screen that says "No Signal". I tried other laptops and/or cable boxes and they work just fine so it must be the laptop or the HDMI port in general. I checked the system and it says that NVIDIA GeForce gt 750m isn't working properly. I think this may be the root of the problem but i don't know how to fix it. This has never happened before.I've never had problems with my laptop and TV screen in terms of duplication.

How hot should a laptop get while gaming?

In regards to gaming, how hot should your computer get? I know you need to download a program to check gpu temp but I don't know which is reliable. I have a brand new Lenovo y410p which is a decent gaming laptop. Also, when I put a temp gun next to the fan it reads like 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Does this sound about right or is this really bad?
