Guys I have ordered lenovo y510p gt755m sli with 1TB harddisk + 24GB SSD. I had a doubt where would be OS installed in SSD or hdd.
I just accidently uninstalled my Gt 750m driver and then reinstalled it again. On the next day i started up my laptop and noticed that my ultrabay is not working anymore. I tried using Lenovo Energy Management with a feature called "Dust Removal" which will blow a dust using both fans, but the ultrabay fan wasn't working at all.
I own this PC http://www.amazon.com/...B006KYY00Q,
And for what i use it it performs pretty good, graphic design and some occasional Sims 3 gaming.
I need a new laptop and I saw this Yoga laptop. Http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-yoga-2-2-in-1-13-3-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i5-4gb-memory-500gb-hard-drive-black/3436004.p?id=1219091398274&skuId=3436004&st=pcmcat309300050015_categoryid$abcat0502000&cp=1&lp=1
Is it better than my PC?
btw. I'm not planning on upgrading ram, 4 is enough for me.
But if you found a better laptop for about the same price as the Yoga, please let me know!
I'm going to get a new laptop this Summer for purposes that include but are not limited to the fact that my school laptop will be taken in for obvious reasons, I have a Stanford online course and school Rosetta Stone to do, and I need to watch anime.
I have always enjoyed video editing and even did a few projects that got semi-popular on YouTube; One now has around 6 thousand views, 103 likes, and 0 dislikes, while the other has over 11 thousand views (11 thousand and 1 while I'm typing this question), 163 likes, and 3 dislikes. I was planning on getting back into and really hitting hard on the video editing hobby in my free time.
Now, here's my problem: I need a laptop for portability and the ability to lay up in bed with it while doing what I have to. I wanted something that has great display and nice to potentially watch some HD videos, and I even thought about the Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 until I found out about the 2 GB of RAM. This is because my current school computer, which I used for video editing, was a MacBook Air model with only 2 GB of RAM… A spec that caused my video editing software to freeze every minute after the first 5 minutes of it being open and caused it to crash every hour.
Also, storage isn't a problem with my video editing, because I have plenty of external areas in which to store my files. The question: Is a gaming computer like Alienware the only way to go? I would rather something that isn't so bulky, but I will use HD video.
I'm looking for 3D glasses but i don't know which one to get. I have lenovo power dvd player which converts the movie print into 3D, I have polarized glasses but they don't seem to work. So to watch it on my Y510p laptop or Samsung NON 3D TV, which one do i get to get?
Added (1). I mean Anaglyph (These work on my system) or Active Shutter or Polarized (which now i know that don't work). Since polarized, now i know don't work should i go for the expensive Active shutter or stick to Anaglyph? I'm not too sure about this so i need help
I replaced the old hard drive of my Lenovo v570 laptop because it was broken. So I put in a new one everything is going great I installed the OS (Win7) and everything but it seems that I can't find the right network drive for me. It says that i need "intel centrino wireless n+ wimax6150" but i downloaded it already and it's still not working. I can't use my Wi-Fi, I'm just hooked up via the ethernet cable? Someone please help?
Will be starting out with Uni soon so I thought I'd elicit the opinion of the others.
These are the four I'm looking out for.
Any recommendations or are these systems just about ok for designing softwares(2d/3d) and programming?

Which one seems apt for my needs?
I have Lenovo Y510P. I noticed a lot of problem with my touchpad. I read forums. I found one way to fix the problems.
http://forums.lenovo.com/...-p/1524742
I downloaded a driver from here:
http://www.station-drivers.com/index.php/downloads/Drivers/Elan/Elan-TouchPad-Drivers-Version-11.14.6.1/
But I'm not sure if its the latest one. Where is the official site for the Elan touchpad?
