What is a good lap top computer to buy? I currently have a Dell and I'm
very unhappy with it.
Around April, my PC decided it was going to stop giving a signal to my monitor. No idea why, it seems it was just out of the blue. However, it starts up fine, and as quick as the day I bought it. All fans work fine, hard drive is ticking as it always has, everything looks and sounds right internally.
Just no signal when connected to my monitor. I have tried my VGA connection in both ports, and my HDMI connection. Nothing. Checked everything inside, took out and put back in my RAM and tried two graphics cards that I know previously worked, tried disconnecting the disc driveand starting then, as well as the hard drive. Nothing.
I have tried everything I can think of. Including the classic unplug the power supply and hold the power button for 30 seconds BS. Nothing.
Anything I can do at all to fix this?
Should I get an alienware X51 900$ model or a Lenovo y40?
Which is more worth it between these two. The price is about same

Hi I've ordered an Intel Core 2 Quad as an upgrade for this computer. The mobo is the same socket (LGA 775) but I'm not sure if it will work with the BIOS and such. Firstly, does it work and secondly, what should I do if it doesn't?
A Lenovo X240 costs $1249. The most expensive MacBook air costs $1249.
The Lenovo has i3, the Air has i5.
The Lenovo is 12.5", the Air is 13".
The Lenovo has Intel Graphics 4400, the Air has 5000.
The Lenovo is 2-3 times thicker than the Air, and has the 4 hours less battery life.
The Lenovo does not have 802.11ac
The Lenovo is made of an ugly plastic.
Seriously. What the hell was Lenovo thinking?
Is the lenovo y40 good for gaming?
Added (1). I ordered this from lenovo for about 780.00 with the 1 TB hard drive and 8GB SSHD and I'm wondering how well it will handle newer games. I want to play games like assassins creed unity when it comes out and shadow of mordor too. Just want to know how well it will handle gaming.
