I accidentally shut down my Lenovo laptop during a factory reset and now all that comes on is a log in with an administrator account and then once it's logged in there's a black background with the empty taskbar and the recycling bin, what do I do?

I'm trying to password protect my thumb drive or USB flash drive but I can't use bitlocker and so far, i've been unable to do it. Is there an EASY way of password protecting my USB flash drive without using BitLocker or having to download a software? I'm using a Lenovo ideapad and I don't know what version of Windows I'm using, I assume it's windows 10 and I bought my laptop last year around November… So my laptop is less than 1 year old.
I know how to dismantle my LAPTOP and put it back together with out any issue but i learned from playing with a dead one and a video here and there. Long story short, my hard drive got smashed (bro's revenge) while i was cleaning out the fans. I didn't have much there so it's not that big of a deal, mainly used it for light gamimg and for school, but I'm a bit confused on how hard drives comes in new. How do I install the OS when windows is on the broken drive? Is there instructions when buying it (Amazon/newegg)? Btw laptop is lenovo y700 14'.
I have a Lenovo Yoga that is connected by a mini hdmi adapter to hdmi to a monitor.
The computer detects the audio of the monitor its says intel display monitor on the audio device. When I play a video no audio shows up. When I plug in another computer with hdmi there's sound with Hdmi input selected as the audio source.
Added (1). The audio it detects is S2718HN/NX (Intel(R) Display Audio)
Added (2). I look at audio properties and it says HDMI Connected

I'm looking into getting a laptop upgrade since the one I have now is not powerful enough to run all the programs for architecture, I'm also a photographer on the side, I put most work on external harddrive but storage is important. It has to have i7 core 8th gen processor, 16gb ram at least, and at least 512 gb hard drive. I have been looking mostly at the dell xps 15 and lenovo yoga 9020, but I'm super confused as to what is the best. Can anyone give me some incite on these two laptops and maybe recommend some other ones. I have kind of ruled out HP as I have heard a handful of negative things totally out weighing the positive.
I've struggled for couple of weeks trying to solve this problem but it ends with an absolute failure and a formatted 1 tera hard disk.
This issue showed up after a month of update win 10 to 1803 version. Everything was going great until a sudden freeze while using my laptop (lenovo z51) and then a loop of bluescreens until I found a solution to stop this temporary through uninstall my amd driver and everything goes well except that I can't do any heavy activity on my laptop like games or graphics softwares and so on.
So I spent a lot of time googling and I ended up deleting my driver by DDU software in safe mode then install the new driver and I've tried older versions and the newest too but Everytime while installing it freezes at the middle of the process and I forced to restart and it's the bluescreen comes again.
I ended up with deleting the win and wrongly formatting the whole hard disk and guess what. While installing the driver it freezes and then boom! The bluescreen comes again.
Also I don't know whom To contact or blame actually for this problem Amd or Microsoft but what I know is that It's really exhausted to spend that amount of time just trying to solve such a problem instead of using the laptop for its intended purpose
So I'm really tired and I'd love to find someone who can help me out with this I'll really appreciate any advice
My Lenovo g40-70's built in mic isn't working. I used it till now but suddenly its not working. So I bought in a Headphone with mic and it goes in to the 3.5 input of the laptop. However, only I can hear but pc can't hear me. Nothing.
I tried with another lenovo laptop through the same single 3.5 input and it works there. So why is it not working in the g40?
