Which Lenovo Ideapad should I get?

I'm getting a new laptop, mostly for college (computer science major), and I really like what I've seen/heard from ideapads. There's several different series but I want to know which would be the best for me for the price. I'm pretty sure the Y series is the best and most expensive but I don't need that much power. But on the other hand the S series is cheap but too small for me, I'm looking for around 14 or 15 in. Any help is appreciated.

How to reset Windows 8.1 to factory defaults?

My PC got some sort of virus or malware the other day which is slowing my internet down considerably, 35-40mbps to 0.1-1.5mbps (test done on speedtest.net).
I have used a whole host of anti-virus software to try and detect it but no luck, and I know there's something going on with my OS because my PC is dual-booted with ubuntu and when doing the same test in ubuntu I get the 35-40mbps download speed.
Unfortunately the dual-boot somehow corrupted my system backup drive so I can't restore through the normal channels (Lenovo OneKey Recovery and Windows USB partition tools both come up with errors saying the recovery drive can't be found).

Any help and/or advice on removing whatever is causing the issue or factory resetting my laptop would be greatly appreciated.

Added (1). Booted into safe mode with practically everything disabled my network speed shot up to 38mbps. Please can someone help I have no idea what is going on.
Everything but trusted applications deleted, internet history and cookies cleared, disabled all boot apps but the Microsoft and Lenovo ones.
I suppose I could delete the "temp" folder if I knew where it was, so I'll start digging.

Added (2). Contents of temp folder deleted, now my download speed is around 11mbps. This is even more confusing. Hardware issue ruled out by Ubuntu boot test, driver issue ruled out by safe mode boot, so logically the only possibility left is malware, so why does deleting the contets of the temp folder half fix it?

Randomly loosing internet connection?

I have just bought a Lenovo g510 about two months ago. It is intel corei7, with 4gb ram and graphics card is amd Radeon. My problem is that whenever I try to download some big (like 6gb) and I keep my laptop idle, like an hour or two it just randomly looses Internet connection. On the Wi-Fi bars in the Down right corner there's a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. And when I go to connect to my Wi-Fi it says my connection is "limited". The way I fix the problem is by turning a Wi-Fi switch off and back on (it's windows 8.1). This temporarily fixes my problem but I want a permanent solution. I searched the web for anything like this but I couldn't find any solution.

MacBook Pro 13 or Lenovo y510p?

Both computers seem to be very intriguing to me. C: The specs of the Lenovo y510p seem to be better than that of the MacBook, but I don't really like Windows 8 or Windows 7 as operating systems, while I love the Mac's OS.

Then again, I know Macs aren't really built for gaming, especially since I'm only intending on buying the 13" as the 15" is too expensive. Windows are, and the better specs of the Lenovo would be essential for games like Minecraft and The Sims. Not to mention that their isn't Fraps for Mac and I don't like Quicktime as a recording program, so that's an issue for me.

I also really like the retina display of the Mac, and I prefer how the backlight of the Mac is white as opposed to the Lenovo's red backlight.

If for anything, I'm using the laptop for personal use. Tumblr, YouTube, Photoshop, gaming (only non-graphic intensive games like Minecraft and the Sims) are among my hobbies.

So, I love the intuitive design of the Mac, but the Lenovo's better specs and cheaper price is also something to consider.

New laptop making noises? Possibly hard drive?

I recently bought a new laptop, a lenovo ideapad y410p, and I've had it for about 2 weeks. Its been making a weird faint crackling noise from what I believe to be the hard drive. The fan sometimes also makes a clicking noise that clears when I run dust removal, but happens again later.

Is this normal or something to be concerned about? What can I do?

Added (1). The noise seems to be coming from the bottom part of the laptop near the touchpad. There's a small vent like area with holes where the sound can clearly be heard when I put my ear next to it. It sounds like whirring and random crackling.

I kind of don't want to return it for a new one if i don't absolutely have to, since it takes a while to ship. Can I just replace the hard drive or something?

What 8+8Gb for a Lenovo G500 i7 3612QM?

I have a Lenovo G500 i7 3612QM and I want to put 2 ram modules of 8+8GB=16GB.
The 4GB installed RAM is CL11, 1.35V.
From What I have saw this laptop takes ram modules up to 1.600 Mhz.
Also I saw in a site that Lenovo laptops take CL 11 modules.

So I search for 8+8GB=16GB, CL11, 1600MHZ, 1.35V, ram modules.

Can you recommend me a couple of good ram modules with these specifications for a Lenovo Laptop?

How to restore my Lenovo Ideapad to factory conditions?

*Running Windows 7
This computer was given to me as a gift, so I'm really not clear on its history. The problems are as follows:
Often refuses to wake up from sleep. Back lights come on, but screen stays dark.
Often slows down… To a painful degree
Frequently disconnects from the internet and loses track of the networks

I downloaded Lenovo OneKey and when I try to use system recovery, I get the error shown above. Prior to attempting a full restore, I tried using MalwareBytes, Avast, Advanced SystemCare, Driver Booster, and SUPERAntiSpyWare. Some of them helped a bit, some of them did nothing and were removed. None of them exacerbated the problem, but none of them really fixed it either.

Help! I work from home and my computer is my meal ticket. I need to have my system running more reliably.

Thank you!

How to get Realtek to work again?

I know I've already asked this question and I really did favour the answer of doing a System Restore but once I did that, I realised that the Realtek wasn't part of the Restore and my laptop recommended me to download it instead.

So, that's what I did and, again, I was successful but I did download from a different website (Lenovo) and the installation was great until I got the 'Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure! [Error Code: -0001] and I began questioning myself again. I've researched as much as I can but I still can't find anything that seems understandable to me. It's much more helpful if the instructions are as blunt as can be and are just listed like 1,2,3.

I don't know what else I can do. I'm not annoyed (I have a lot of patience, I'm surprised myself) but I just want to be able to do the simple things again like watch a movie, go on YouTube etc.

Again, thanks in advanced!

P.S. My background is Tokyo Ghoul, yes.
