After updating to windows 8.1, my lenovo y510p can't have its brightness changed. I can press FN+volume and the slider is adjustable so there's nothing wrong with my audio, but the brightness can't be changed anywhere…
I've tried installing the old Intel windows 8 driver but nothing worked.
How do i solve this issue? My battery dies a lot faster than i would like now, and i do not like working with full brightness All the time.
I have a Acer Aspire 7739z-4804. It has a Intel Pentium P6200 CPU, Intel HD Graphics, 1 GB DDR3 Memory, and 500 GB HDD. My laptop is great for normal tasks like school work or just surfing the internet (basically everyday use) but I want it to be a gaming laptop. I have no idea on what it takes to turn my laptop into one and I prefer not to build a PC due to the fact I don't have much space for one and like being able to take my games with me easily. Does anyone have anything from the info they can tell me. Also my internet upload and download speeds are pretty great but due to the fact that my laptop isn't that good for gaming Its hard for me to stream or play games without lag.
Right now I have a Lenovo Z370 ideapad
Intel Core i3 2.20GHz with 4GB of RAM
Intel HD Graphics 3000 and NVIDIA GeForce 410M
I'm going to study Art and Technology, which includes games, video editing, photoshop, animation etc. Shall I upgrade my laptop (if so, what should I upgrade?) or simply buy a new one because this one is ****?

I'm so confused about graphics cards right now. Someone just tell me if i will be able to run new games on high settings at a good framerate…
Battlefield 4?
If not can you suggest one near 1000?
Ok so I'm real computer tech, but I need some help here! I got a windows 8.1 lenovo, just a regular laptop, not a touchpad or nothing. I'm trying to reset it to factory settings bc my computer is screwed up, so I did it b4, like 3-5 times already, and now it's not letting me do it anymore. Why?!
I was wondering if i can run these games on my Lenovo Ideapad P400. I have 8 gigs of RAM, an Intel Core i7-362qm CPU @ 2.20 GHz, and Intel HD Graphics 4000. The thing that I can run Dead Space 2 off of Steam just fine. However, these games aren't on Steam, so will the requirements be any different?
I'm purchasing a new Ideapad y510p especially for gaming but i'm confused between i5 and i7 so please suggest me which one better. Or does i5 works fine with 755M SLI card?
