I'm looking to buy a laptop. I'm only going to be a junior in high school next year, but I'm looking for one mainly to write papers and do power points and such with. I want a nice, user friendly one that isn't super expensive. Are there any that you know of that are good and people have had success with? If so, please comment what type and say why it's so good.
Just like many other people, my lenovo y410p randomly loses Wi-Fi. I use this laptop for everything, school, gaming, movies, ect. How do i keep the Wi-Fi from crashing while on skype working on a project or while playing an intense game of league? It crashes either everyday or everyother day. People are saying that reformatting or even installing win7 fixes the issue, but i would like to keep win8 and i have nowhere to back up my stuff if i reformat, my usb isn't big enough. How do i fix the Wi-Fi without doing anything major?
This may be a stupid question but I'm going to college next year and I need a laptop. I really like the Lenovo Y510p Laptop and it's a good price. All the reviews are saying that this is a gaming laptop. I'm not a hardcore gamer so I don't care about that. Would this be a good laptop for college for a computer science major? I would be using this computer for homework for the most part. I think that this laptop has all the right specs and memory for the best price but I don't want it to be specifically a gaming laptop. I recently purchases an external CD-Rom drive and it doesn't seem to be working. I'm using a Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p with Windows 8. The laptop recognizes it and I'm able to click on it and everything. But, when i do it just says to insert the disk, even though the disk is already inside. I checked the properties and it says it's working properly. When I troubleshooted it, it stated the following:
USB Mass Storage "Device is an older USB device and might not work with USB 3.0"
Plug the device into an available USB 2.0 port, and click Next. Otherwise, click Cancel.
I don't understand what I'm supposed to do with this.
I play this game called War thunder and I need to run it and it needs a good graphics card.
