I currently have the Lenovo ideapad y410p. I've had it for a few years and it's breaking so I need a new one. Looking for one that's better than my current one for games and price for around 800-900$ Thanks.
I was considering getting this laptop, but I'm not sure how much better it is than my current one, not really sure how to read the specs and what's better than what:/ any help would be appreciated!
On my Lenovo laptop, while i was using Chrome, it wanted me to update to the latest version and that was about 10am.
I don't think it is supposed to take hours to update, so I decided to uninstall Chrome and re-install it, but it is still taking a long time.
Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Okay so this is what happened… My younger brother was playing DOTA on my laptop ( Lenovo y500 ) and then raged and he punched my laptop s screen and it cracked and only the top-left of the screen is seen and the rest of it is like some kind of vertical lines (none of the liquid is leaking out though) … I ordered a monitor from Amazon and for the time being I'm using my laptop by concerning to the TV via a hdmi cable… So my plan for now is to remove the whole screen panel and connect the rest of it to my monitor… So how do I remove it? I don't prefer screen replacement because it's much much more costly… Thanks in advance
Added (1). I meant to make my laptop into half laptop and half desktop ie the CPU is the remaining part of my laptop and the monitor connected

I have downloaded few movies through torrent. I used MPC-HC, it worked well in the beginning but now it stuck at certain points. Tried VLC but no gain. But whenever i play it, my disk usage goes 100 percent whereas i have much space on Hard disk. I have.

I had Lenovo laptop with Windows 7 OS.
I want to install "Kali Linux" by removing windows 7.
So, I made bootable pen drive of Kali Linux.
Then I installed it.
Installation was successful,
but while installation, It shows some message about GRUB but I didn't know any thing about it.
So I underestimated it, and That was, I have to choos where to install GRUB boot loader.
So at first I install it in internal hard drive, and I restarted computer but, it again asked for re-installation.
So I re-install the Kali linux and in second time I choose the option to install in pen drive.
Then after restarting again they asked to re-install, so I had removed pen drive and I neviget to bios or boot menu, and I disabled the usb boot.
And then, When I restart the laptop, It was showing lenovo logo, and black screen with blinking cursor, and nothing else,
I tried to open bios menu, but no function key worked, f1-f12, and DEL key and Holding Shift key, etc, I tried much to nevigate into boot menu, but I didn't succeed, and also,
I made bootable dvd of linux mint, but It also doesn't work in my laptop.
Now what to do, Please Help me, I'm stuck since 4 days…
