Ergonomics: What's a solid keyboard with firm key feel?

I had an ergonomic evaluation yesterday for my job. I do a lot of clerical work on the computer. When she tried to "correct" my positioning, she was basically appalled that I was using the keyboard on the laptop (Lenovo X230 on the docking station) instead of the keyboard on the adjustable tray. I told her that I didn't like the keyboard tray because it pushes me too far back, and I can't stand the feel of the regular keyboard; it's far too mushy and I'm quite accustomed to mechanical keyboards - I use the laptop keyboard because it just feels better although I prefer a standard keyboard layout. I said I'd use the keyboard tray if there were a better keyboard.

She recommended using a different keyboard or at the very least adjusting my chair height for the laptop dock (which requires a foot rest, and I'd much prefer to have my feet planted. Using my own hardware is basically against policy. She throw some recommendations my way, but had a lot of difficulty doing so because apparently most people want a softer keyboard feel whereas I want a firmer one. So she basically wants me to throw some keyboard suggestions her way so she can recommend them for ergonomic reasons.

I think the problem here is that many of the keyboards I'd like to use are way to flashy (LEDs, decals, general aesthetics) to really be taken seriously. I don't think I'd necessarily a mechanical keyboard, but I would like a keyboard with a firm feel. Any suggestions for a simple, firm feeling keyboard?

Added (1). On a side note, I use CherryMX Brown switches. I've also used the Unicomp Model M "Ultra Classic", but I think that keyboard might be too unwieldy. As of right now, her best recommendation is the Evoluent Mouse-Friendly Keyboard. Again, I would like a clean, minimal, standard keyboard with a firm feel, akin to CherryMX Brown Switches. Something like the Lenovo Thinkpad keyboards are also work for me.

I'm in need of a laptop that can run video editing softwares, and is under $1000?

Due to me traveling a lot, and still in college, I need a laptop that can run adobe Premiere Pro CC, and After Effects CC. But due to my current budget it needs to be at most $1000 or less.

How long is it going to reset itself?

So I have Lenovo laptop. I have had it for a year. Ever since I changed my windows to windows 10 it wasn't good and it was lagging. So I decided to return my laptop to factory settings. And I have choosen the one which cleans everything and it said it could last for sveral hours until its done. But since I pressed that the screen said restarting. And it went black but the laptop was still working. Since then almost 24 hours passed and its still working with the black screen. What should I do? Is it normal?

Lenovo laptop just blinking its logo? Urgent?

I was resetting my laptop, when all of a sudden it said "we had a problem." So I just like "continue" and it began to restart. Not its just doing its logo for 5 seconds, going black for 5 seconds, and repeating.

Is it just gathering its info?

Phone, laptop, or console?

I have to pick one among them to buy, so I'd like to ask what you think I should buy.

So uh, I'm a high school student, and since I have no laptop, I go to these internet cafes for my projects/assignments. I used to have a Macbook Air, but something happened and I don't have it anymore. It's either I buy another Macbook Air (the cheapest one - 128GB), or a different laptop (probably ASUS or Lenovo, but not sure which model). I'm not really a PC gamer, so I don't need those Alienware laptops. A friend of mine even said that I would need a laptop for college, and I'm already in the 10th grade, so college is somewhat near.

My current phone, an iPhone 4S (64GB), has been with me for 4 years already, and most of my friends suggest me to buy a new one. Either a new iPhone (6, 5S since my mother thinks a 6 is expensive, or SE if the 64GB one is cheap) or an ASUS Zenfone 2.

I just bought a console last December, and well, I also want another console (PS3). I know it's already outdated 'cause of the PS4, but there's just a lot of games that are only available in the PS3.

So from what I said, which one should I buy? My mom and I have a limited budget so I can only buy one of them.

How to lock the Fn key when using Ctrl on Lenovo E50?

My Lenovo E50 laptop has certain multimedia keys in place of the traditional the F keys (which can subsequently be used together with the Fn key). When I hold down Alt the multimedia keys are ignored and the F keys are used instead. For example when I want to close a window I press Alt+F4 instead of Alt+Fn+F4. How can I get the Ctrl key to behave in a similar way so that I don't have to keep holding down Fn anymore? In other words instead of having to press Ctrl+Fn+F11, I should be able to press Ctrl+F11.

Is there a way to do this without completely disabling the Fn key or swapping keys?
