Laptops for college students?

Laptops for college students?

Added (1). i'm looking to upgrade to a newer laptop. I'm currently using lenovo p400. I don't really need much. Just the best thing for my money. My laptop usage is as follows. Mostly homework with office, then i sometimes binge netflix and read mangas. I'm an IT major so a bit of programming as well. I rarely ever play games so that is not an issue. I do need the laptop to be able to handle good resolutions and have touch screen though. Budget 800-1000 USD. And no macs
any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking for a new laptop?

I'm looking to spend an absolute maximum of $1000 on a new laptop. It needs to have good Wi-Fi connectivity, at least 8gb og memory, run at least i5, and have at least 500 gb of hardrive. If it can fold it would be a big bonus, as well as touchscreen capabilities. The Lenovo edge 2 fits this profile, but has terrible Wi-Fi connectivity and I hate it with a burning passion.

How to use my SSD after a complete re-install of WIndows 10?

Long story short my HDD died and I had to re-install Windows 10 on my lenovo Y580 laptop. It's an older model (3 years) and isn't supported for Windows 10. Now my SSD is not recognized, nor being used I presume. It's a small drive, 32 GB used for loading the OS quickly.

So how can I use my drive again? Not sure how this all works, the OS came installed when I got the laptop.

My computer browsers think that I'm located in New Zealand?

One day a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that my Google search engine said google.nz, & soon after noticed that I could not load HBOGo, because it said it was not offered to those outside of the United States (I live in Connecticut). Also, the content was limited on Netflix (for example, only the UK version of The Office showed up when I searched). I googled "Where am I?" & it said that I was located in Auckland, NZ.
I have never been out of the US in my life, except for a trip to Canada before I even had this computer. I have owned it for about 2 years now, & have not had any problems like this before. In fact, this isn't even affecting my computer's performance, aside from the obvious annoyance! I have a Lenovo Thinkpad, & have so far only seen solutions for Macs.

I've tried EVERYTHING…

I have googled every form of this question, & tried a whole bunch of suggestions, to no avail. I have tried uninstalling & reinstalling Google Chrome, because I at first that that was the problem. Unfortunately, all of my browsers (including Internet Explorer & Firefox) experience this problem. It isn't my computer itself because I've checked the location settings many times, & even reset them, but still experience this problem. I've tried deleting my computer's cache & reseting cookies, & have messed with any sort of location modification that is available in the internet settings or computer settings

My roommate & I share a router, & she doesn't experience this problem.

Which aspect - a processor or the graphic is more important when it comes to handle games?

I KNOW laptop are not the best for games and I've no place for a stational computer, but I'm not much of a gamer, so its doesn't have to be a super duber powerful one. Just good enough to handle a single game. (Sims 2) But I'm a bit confused about the processor/graphic difference.

Where I buy my laptops, they had three laptop option:

Lenovo Nvidia processor with 8GB ram with EITHER Intel celeron GT 820M or pentium N3050,
while the third one is an Acer laptop with AMD A10-7300 processor laptio with 8GB.

Which one MIGHT be better?

Usually I buy cheap-ish Acer laptops with Intel Celeron with 4GB ram, but I find this kind break easily, so i consider buying a difference one. I don't buy super expensive ones, but like to understand the processor/graphic difference.
