Laptop stuck on splash screen. Any ideas?

Whenever I attempt to turn on my laptop, it just displays the splash screen. This started two Saturdays ago and last Saturday after sitting for a minute or two, it actually turned on. It tried to install updates but said it failed. It started up anyway and was working as normal, so I thought that was the end. The next day, I woke up to it powered off and it was doing it again.

It is a Lenovo Ideapad N580 running Windows 10.

$1000 laptop that is mobile, looks good, and can play games?

Some games I'm interested in are World of Warcraft, Skyrim, and games on STEAM in general. I have a budget around $1000. I can't get a desktop because I can't afford to get a desktop and a laptop because I need at least a laptop for college next year. I was looking at Alienware 13 but apparently it isn't that good because it is dual core? I looked at Lenovo Y50 and apparently the company is really bad and was apart of the superfish scandal? Any advice on what laptops I should consider and if I'm falsely judging the above mentioned laptops? Thanks!

Added (1). Sorry for not being really specific on games. I don't need tom play really beefy games, but games around Skyrim and World of Warcraft level. Maybe some shooter games like call of duty or kerbel space program. I want at least WoW and Skyrim, and anything better is an improvement welcomed.

Which Laptop is better in general?

I'm a college student who would like a lightweight laptop that boots up very fast and has moderate gaming capabilities. I narrowed it down to 2 pretty cheap ultrabooks.

$680(Asus Zenbook UX305FA-USM1 13-Inch Laptop) and $629(Lenovo U31-70 - 80M500E5US)

I'm not keen on superior processors and graphics cards, so it would help a lot if someone could decide the better product for the price.

The specs for the ASUS option is:
Processor:2 GHz Intel Core Duo
RAM: 8 GB
Hard Drive:256 GB SSD
Graphics Coprocessor:Intel HD 5300 Graphics
Chipset Brand: Intel

And the specs for the Lenovo option is:
Processor: 5th Generation Intel Core i5-5200U Processor (2.20GHz 1600MHz 3MB)
Graphics: Intel® HD Graphics 5500
Memory: 8.0GB PC3L-12800 DDR3L 1600 MHz
Hard Drive: 500GB 5400 RPM

Thank you so much for your help and if there's a better, light (under 4 lbs preferably) ultrabook that doesn't cost more than $700, please let me know. Have a great day.
