Laptop shuts down after a minute with an external monitor?

So here's the deal - i have connected an external ASUS VG236 23" monitor to my Lenovo Y520 laptop over HDMI. The problem is that, if I don't interact with the computer for 1 minute, it goes to sleep, which is annoying. Doesn't happen when no external monitor is connected, at least i haven't noticed.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Would an external CD ROM or USB drive hold any memory?

I have a small laptop, possibly an 'ideapad' and lenovo. It does not hold much memory. It has no CD Rom. I don't think I stored that much stuff and its already saying how its out of memory. So i'm thinking of getting an external driver, i believe it's a CD ROM and its hooked up using a USB cable.
I'm not so computer savvy, so would this CD ROM store memory or space?
I know about a flash drive. But can a DVD/CD ROM store any data/ files?

User profile service failed the logon

Having to use my spare laptop at the moment because my Lenovo thinkpad is acting weird. Turned it off normally the other night and know I keep getting this message:
"the user profile service failed the logon" and I can't access anything in my computer. When i tried to access safe mode i just kept getting an error saying 'key stuck'
It is at least a 4-5 year old laptop but has always been reliable. I don't know if it could be easily fixed or if it's just dead.
Any ideas what could be wrong and how to fix it?

Windows 10 - Built-In Apps Get Stuck On Icon With Blue Background?

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad with Windows 10. Sometimes, when I open built-in applications, they don't start. For example, about 5 minutes ago I opened the Microsoft Store and it got stuck on the store icon with the blue background. Yesterday, I opened the Settings app and the same thing happened, stuck on a blue background with the application icon in the middle. Usually, they will work if I simply close it and reopen it. But is there any way to stop this from happening?

How do I fix plain blue screen on my lenovo laptop?

It shows nothing but a plain blue screen and I have tried to fix it but nothing works. It has no message or anything, just a blank blue screen. I don't have an installation disk or USB and CTRL ALT DEL doesn't work.

Lenovo yoga 720 help! If you are a tech person, please please help me out?

So over a week ago, I bought the Lenovo Yoga 720 13 inch 2-in-1 laptop. I noticed that the fan noise was too loud and that the screen would flicker. I checked for updates and there were some. When I tried to update it, it would be stuck at 0 percent. I ended up returning it and the store manager told me that I probably just got a bad one by luck but I ended up exchanging it for the Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1, which now I hate because the battery life is weak and there's a problem with their screen frame. I don't know if I should go back for the lenovo yoga 720 or not. I mean I can't just keep switching my laptops! Do updates help the fan noise? I also heard the lenovo yoga 720 has a really good battery life.
