My school gave me a laptop?

So my school is getting new laptops so we're allowed to keep the old ones. Mine is a Lenovo Windows laptop. The school has downloaded a lot of different things:

Java
Internet Explorer
Sticky Notes
Microsoft (Paint, Office, etc.)

I would like to reset this laptop to customize it myself (and to make it faster) but I don't want to delete these programs.
Is there any way to do this?

If not, is there somewhere I can reset settings or something? And what should I do to customize it and make it faster?

Connecting Laptop to TV, no HDMI on laptop?

So I have a Lenovo ThinkPad w530 Laptop which has a VGA port but no HDMI port. I also have a Samsung Smart TV which has an HDMI port.

I want to connect my Laptop with the TV through HDMI without deminishing the quality, what are my options? How can I make this work?

I heard something about VGA to HDMI converters (doesn't that lower the quality?)

How to turn off the screen on a Lenovo Thinkpad?

I just got a new laptop and am already missing my Dell which had a single button to turn off the screen and nothing else (most importantly sound). I figured it might be a bit more complicated on a different computer, but I haven't found any way at all without downloading some questionable software. Therefore, my questions are twofold:

1) Is there any way to do it using just the keyboard or some function within Windows 7?
2) Is there good free or inexpensive software available that isn't malware, etc.

What laptop should I NOT buy?

I honestly suck at technology so I need a simple and an excellent performing one.
What laptops do you guys have? Tell me what you don't like about it.

I'm looking for a laptop that is:
- 11inch
- Weights less than 1.5kg
- Long battery life
- Has >2 USB slots
- SD card reader

I've also noticed that a lot of the recent laptops don't have CD drives in them, do you think its necessary to have one?
You may have seen me ask this question before. I've asked this question so many times but I never get constructive feedback!

I was thinking macbook air 11 but like i said, i suck at technology so I have a feeling it's going to take me forever to adjust to whatever software it has (not windows) because I work on a windows right now.

Lenovo A269i screen cracked?

I need help, I have a phone Lenovo a269i, it was bought last friday from a retailer, I had it replace just this morning because there's something wrong with the reboting. So I now have a new unit, just a while ago I connected to my laptop, then after a while I went out to get some stuff when i returned i checked my phone, the LCD was cracked or broken about 1/6 of the screen. I'm not sure what happened, I did not dropped it i'm positively sure, I wasn't sure if i sat on it… But i used a lot of other phones like SAMSUNG and other cheaper, locally manufactured phone here in the Phil. And I did sat down to some of them but it still okay. Now the problem is It's still have a Limited Warranty, Yes I read the whole LENOVO warranty thing. My question is do I have a chance to have my phone fix without paying for the LCD replacement? I felt very bad right now because i had it for just a day and now another problem… I'm never buying lenovo again…

Realtek audio driver 2.75 complications with input mic?

I've currently got a Realtek High Definition sound card and I'm running version 2.75 of the Realtek hd audio driver. My laptop is a Lenovo V570 with Windows 7 Home Premium. Here is my problem:

On the oldest version of the driver I had, 2.61 or so, I've used my Turtle Beach Earforce X12 headset for listening as well as recording things with the mic. The headset is plugged in to my laptop by USB, stereo 3.5 jack (green), and mic 3.5 jack (pink). The mic worked perfectly and picked up sound amazingly. The problem with this version of the driver is that it didn't recognize stereo mix as a recording option. After updating to version 2.75 of the driver, stereo mix is now recognized, but there's a new problem. First, Realtek only displayed the laptop mic and stereo mix as recording devices. After messing with the settings I've configured Realtek to display two different mics (laptop mic and input mic). The problem arises here. When I plug in my headset, I literally have to scream just to barely hear my voice with the mic level maxed out as well as the mic boost.

On the old driver, I had a working mic but no stereo mix. On the newest driver, I get stereo mix, but no working mic. I might have the wrong settings or something, but I'm lost. Any help would be much appreciated.
