I was trying to uninstall a virus but I had to do a few things on the control prompt and before I restarted my laptop I disabled safe boot now my computer will not run. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have the Lenovo ideapad y500 please help!
Recently i updated from windows 7 32 bit to windows 8.1 64 bit and my wi-fi won't work.
I downloaded and installed the recommended driver but it doesn't help.
Mabey it is something about the drivers (Lenovo Drivers) i got when i bought the laptop, it didn't install them when i updated to windows 8.1.
My laptop is Lenovo Thinkpad edge e320.
Thank you!
Best Regards

Added (1). Edit: I don't have a Wi-Fi on/off button and when i auto-detected the driver in intels website it just opened a weird window and didn't install.
Here is a screenshot:
The wi-fi switch is dark and i can't enable it.
I have a budget of around $150 and I have found a lot of laptops on Amazon for that price range but I have narrowed it down.
The dell latitude series - your average laptop not much too it but supposed to be pretty good for the price.
Acer c710-2411- I found this laptop very recently and haven't done as much research for this laptop as I have others
The mac book - the old ones are cheap enough and they get the job done plus I like the mac engine
Lenovo thinkpad - cheapest one and supposed to be good for the price
Basically I need a laptop that I can makes games on using game maker but isn't the biggest deal I do however need something that I can animate with and the macbook has imovie which my brother uses and is really good but also I need something I can write a book on which I can use any laptop to do. I mainly want to animate though which obviously makes the macbook the better choose but I want to make games with game maker and macbook doesn't have game maker… Anyways that's everything
I'm gonna be brief but wanted a laptop for gaming and design and I'm not sure the Lenovo is the right choice but my mind is set on laptop not a desktop because I need mobility. If the Lenovo Y510P is not the right can someone suggest a laptop for graphic design/multimedia and able play games at ultra settings that is under 1200?
I was womdering what the performance is between the two. I will be getting this laptop anyway but i want to know if i should buy a ps4 for gaming instead of using the laptop. The one I'm getting has an i7, 860m graphics card and 16 gigs of ram, 1tb hard drive with 8 gig ssd hybrid. I love the idea of modding games and i've heard that games play better on PC. Just wondering what the performance of the y50 is.
Specs are:
4th Gen i7 - 4700MQ
8GB RAM
GDDR5 2GB Nvidia GT 750 N14P-GT1 Graphics (No SLI)
Full HD 15.6" Display
Go or No Go?

Added (1). Just to add, I'll be doing a lot of gaming, programming (android development), movie watching (that's why I like the FHD).
Added (2). Also, since I program alot, I really like backlit keyboard too.

I'm an incoming freshman looking for a relatively portable (sub 5 pounds) laptop that can handle some gaming for at or under $1500. I'd love any help you can give in my search. Here are my criteria:
1. Weight: Has to be less than 5 pounds so it's not a burden when I have to bring it to class.
2. Screen: Preferably 14" or 13", but I could go up to 15" as long as it's still under 5 lbs.
3. Games: Has to play games like Skyrim, Bioshock Inifinite, Far Cry 3 at low/medium settings. I don't mind if it doesn't look absolutely spectacular as long as there's little lag and a solid fps.
4. Brand: I've been looking at mostly Lenovo and MSI. I'd also consider Asus and Dell. I'm looking away from HP and Acer because of concerns over their sturdiness, but would be open to suggestions. One computer I've already found is the Lenovo Y40, which I can get for $829-$1299 with a student discount.
I appreciate any suggestions you have!
I recently changed my password on my Lenovo windows 7 laptop and I can't remember what it is. Everything that I look up I need a password reset disc or a password recovery drive. I don't have either as I bought this laptop from someone and they didn't have the disk either and I really don't want to spend the money to get one. My boyfriend has tried everything he can but it all involves getting into the admin which is mine which is password protected and I can't remember it. Is there any way around this or am I stuck getting a cd and doing a whole factory reset before all of this happened?
