Best laptop I can buy thats reasonable as a price?

I'm looking to buy a new laptop that can come as close as possible to the latest performances at a price under 1400 dollars. I use my laptop to programming, movies, photos editing, and also gaming. So I need something with good CPU and lots of memory and not heating like crazy. What I've found myself so far are: lenovo y510p and z510, but not sure if this ones are the best there.
Please share you're thoughts. Thank you!

Added (1). And good nvidia graphics, 2 gb graphic memory.

Should I get the Dell Inspiron i3137-5003sLV or Lenovo IdeaPad S210 - or something else?

So I'm going to get a new laptop sometime in the near future, but I don't know what to get. I'm considering the Dell Inspiron i3137-500sLV ($399) and the Lenovo IdeaPad S210 ($379). However, I'm open to anything really - and by anything, I mean something that fits all of the requirements of that it:

1. Is under $650 (my parents are going to pay for it, and I don't want to get something that's too expensive, and they wouldn't buy it anyway)
2. Has a 11.6" screen (can't be smaller, or else it's too small - and I only want to get 13.3" one if it's epicly epic and made of the dust of a unicorn horn or something)
3. Needs to be portable and durable (this is something I'll be bringing to school every weekday, so it needs to small and light but sturdy enough to be easy to transport - which is why I'm not eagar to have 13.3")
4. Has at least 350 GB of storage on the hard drive (anything less is not enough for me)
5. Has a processor that's at least 1.5 GHz (I'm going to be playing League on this - I don't need 60 FPS, but it needs to be fast enough to have at least 30)
6. Touchscreen and Windows 8 (I can't live without either of those)
7. Has a reasonable amount of battery life (5 hours and above is fine - again, this is something I'll use for school)

I don't care about a disc drive, or the amount of USB ports (as long as it has at least 2). And I also prefer something not Asus. Looks also don't matter, as long as it's not ugly.

What is A good laptop to buy?

I can't get my wired internet to work on my laptop?

I purchased a laptop computer(Lenovo; Windows 7 Professional) from China but I have a problem with my internet. The situation is that when I use wireless internet(Wi-Fi) the internet works just fine on my laptop, but when I switch to wired internet I can't connect to the internet. My computer displayed that nothing is wrong, that I'm connected to a network and to the internet, but when I try to go to a site I get messages like "Internet Explorer can't display this webpage" or "This webpage is not available". When I use another laptop(from the US) with the same wired internet connection, I could go to the sites with no problem at all. The only one that's wacky is the Lenovo laptop I brought from China. Of course, it worked just fine when I was in China but displayed all these problems when I used wired internet on it in the US

Forgive me for my lack of better terminology, I'm not much of a computer person.

Why is this laptop so cheap?

I found this laptop on amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/...00J9RTGGO/

it cost's a little over 1200, but if you configure the same laptop on lenovo's site, it cost's over 1600. What are the doing that's bringing the price so low? I want to get it, but, you know, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Which laptop would be better for college and a little bit of gaming?

I'm looking for a laptop for everyday use. I'm majoring in electrical engineering and need a new laptop. I also only play league of legends on the computer.

Currently I'm looking at these two laptops:
http://www.amazon.com/...uctDetails

http://shop.lenovo.com/...ries/z510/

If any of you could recommend me any other laptops, that'd be awesome. I'm not only looking at lenovo laptops, so any asus, acer, toshiba, etc. Recommendations would be fine. My price range is around 500-630, and specs similar or even better than those two would be great.

Which laptop?: Lenovo Y50 or Alienware 18?

Which laptop should I get? Which is the better deal? The new Y50 just came out:

Lenovo Y50 IDEAPAD 39.6 cm (15.6 inch) Notebook (Intel Core i7-4710HQ, 2.5GHz, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M, Win 8.1) black

I can get that at £780

However, I can get a new Alienware 18 too, which has 2 years warranty left:

Shipped in 9/10/2014, 1920x1080 screen, warranty to 2016, 4700MQ, 8 gig ram, dual 765M SLI, 750GB 7200rpm at £1100.

Which is the better deal?

Thanks guys

Added (1). Sorry, the alienware was shipped in 9/10/2013, not 2014*
