My laptop shuts down whenever I turn it on?

I have a Lenovo S210 Touch and every time I try to turn it on, it'll turn on for a few seconds to a few minutes and then just shut down completely, I also think that when I close the lid, it turns on, but when I open the lid, it turns off. I think it may be an shorted circuit, but I have no idea how to fix a laptop, or what the parts of a laptop are, and my parents won't take it to get it fixed, because they're lazy and procrastinators and they also think that I'm just an idiot and that I'm probably pressing the wrong button. Is there any way to fix this by myself with only a screwdriver, or some other basic, very basic tool?

Lenovo Laptop RAM & HDD Upgrade?

So I can't turn my laptop into a gaming pc, but can I change the RAM & HDD?

It's a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon. I want to upgrade the RAM to 16 GB and the HDD to 2 TB.

Can I do it?

Good laptops for school (Dell xps and macbooks)?

I'm thinking about purchasing the i7 processor xps12 laptop (9Q33 model number) for school but i'm unsure if it is a good laptop or not. I'm also considering a mac book air or pro.

Besides that do you have any other good laptop recommendation (brands, experiences etc.)

Buying a laptop-apple or windows?

I'm a freshman in high school and need help deciding which laptop I should get that will last me into college. Right now I'm using a Dell Inspiron N4010 and I'm comfortable with Mac and Windows computers. I have money saved and was ready to go buy a Macbook air 13" ($1099) yesterday, until my mom said she didn't like the feel and the salesperson. We went to check out the Windows store, and looked at these three models
Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga- its the same price as the air, so probably not.
Acer Aspire V5 14 inch- ($600)
Asus t300 LA-($800)
I don't really like Windows 8, but my mom thinks the touchscreen will make a difference.
Portability, reliability, speed, and being long lasting are my main concerns. The main thing I hate about my current computer is that it's a pain to lug around.
What laptop should I get?

Added (1). I use my laptop for mostly internet and Office. I don't think I would need that much storage-but correct me if I'm wrong. We were considering getting the larger storage Air because it can't be updated, but I think the smaller would be fine.

Please someone of you guide me to come out of technical glitches to my laptop?

I'm Prasad. Recently I have purchased Lenovo Laptop. Actually I wanted to install in it iLEAP software and work, because we can type as many languages as possible, including Telugu and Hindi languages. But my Laptop is not supporting iLEAP software at all. So, we tried to download Windows XP "drivers", but suitable drivers are not available even for a cost.

In the meantime I received an email from Microsoft, telling that from 8th April 2014 onwards the Windows XP Support ends. This is further confirmed when I read the news "ATMs may not work on 8th April 2014, as they work with the support of Windows XP". Will anyone of you please suggest me, how I should go about now and in future if Windows XP support is withdrawn?
From one side I'm struggling in getting internet facility to my Laptop. I have shown the "Digisol" and then requested the shopkeeper for a suitable SIM for internet connectivity. He gave me an idea SIM in my name at Rs. 99/-, saying that I can get 1 GB size, 3 G internet. But when installed, it has given lot of trouble and did not work. Then I contacted the Customer Care of idea, they say that it is only for a Mobile internet and not for Laptop. Again back to the shop keeper, he says you may browse idea website, a provision for it is available.
Please advise me how I should go about to get the following:
1) I want to install iLEAP software in my Laptop and work, how can I do this?
2) How can I get internet?
