My HDMI cable does not play audio and plays only video?

I have been through several posts on this and tried everything suggested, nothing works.

I have a Lenovo G505s laptop and LG tv. The cable is new and works well with my Dell laptop.

I have upgraded the HDMI drivers, ensured the device shows up in sound settings under control panel. Its even my default device when I connect the HDMI cable, but no sound.

When i try to play an MP3 song through media player, it says the audio device is not available or is being used by another device at the moment.

Is it possible to upgrade my laptop for gaming?

I'm wanting to play some video games preferably VIA a computer but at the moment I only have my laptop and it doesn't have the minimum requirements for most. The main contender is Dragon Age Inquisition, and I've heard it had a pretty high standard to run.

My laptop is a Lenovo: Intel Core i3 - 4000, CPU 2.4GHz

Other than buying a graphics card that fits the bill, is there anything else I could do/upgrade to be able to use it for the game(s)? Or should I just give up! I've played a good amount on it without much issue, but I've heard some horror stories of hard drives getting ruined if the game is too intense and it overheats.

I want to increase my laptop resolution from 1366x768 to 1920x1080

I have Lenovo Z510 laptop. It has nvidia 740M and Intel HD 4600. I want to change its resolution from 1366x768 to 1920x1080. I'm using windows 8.1.

I have tried many things, like:

1. Powerstrip: I'm not getting 'advanced timing option'

2. Nvidia Control panel: No display option available. I only have 3D settings.

3. CRU: Custom Resolution Utility also not working.

4. Don't wanna change default screen or connect a second screen.

5. Searched in Registry but could, t find anything.

Retrieving Microsoft Word documents?

I just got my laptop stolen a few hours ago. On it was saved about 6 months of my hard work that I stupidly did not back up into a flash drive or Google drive. The laptop is a Lenovo U 430 running Windows 8 (i believe) so it made me make a Microsoft account when I first set it up.

I already filed a police report, but I honestly have no hope of getting my laptop back. My question is, is there any possible way for me to retrieve those Microsoft word files? Anyway using that Microsoft account?

So if i download lenovo camera application again will it be a problem?

I bought a new Laptop of Lenovo with OS as Windows 8.1. I already have a PC with Windows 7 and Internet connection.

Now I want to connect my Laptop with my PC and get internet access. Can someone please guide me step by step process on how to do this.

My second HP laptop has died prematurely on me, so I need to find a new one. I'm a high school student and my Computer Science course (which I start in 2 weeks) requires a decent computer. Not only do I need a laptop for work though, I would like a laptop that can handle gaming well enough to tie me over until summer when I get my desktop. Being a student, I would like to find a computer that can fulfill my needs for under $550. Future Shop currently has a Lenovo G50 (1TB HDD / 8GB RAM / AMD A6-6310) on sale for $430, I don't know if that's worth it or not.

Added (1). The most demanding game I plan to put my new computer through is Team Fortress 2, which my Pavilion dv6 managed fairly well.

My Lenovo Ideapad's battery is bad?

My Lenovo laptop was only just unplugged a couple minutes back… It's already at 93% and is expected to last another 3 hours and 20 minutes.

It's originally supposed to have a battery life of between 5-6 hours… Anything I can do to help get it back to normal?
